I forgot Man U played this afternoon and checked my points to see if Depay did anything (he did not :( ) and saw that the top team so far for the week already had 45 points, which seemed pretty crazy for just one 1-0 game being played. So, I looked at the guy's roster, and he had played some triple captain card with Mata as his captain. There were also these bench boost and all-out attack cards you could play. Are these new, or have I been missing these the past couple years?

These first couple weeks are tough as far as roster decisions go. Lots of starting 11s are different than anticipated, or guys who looked to get a lot of playing time are displaced by last-minute transfers. I think it's better to burn a wildcard than carry guys who aren't playing for a couple weeks until you can transfer them out.

That was my thought too. Baines injury and not realizing that the bonus point system changed meant that I had 4 or 5 poor choices. And yeah, I expected Ayoze to play a good bit for Newcastle--thought he was really impressive last year--and its sounding like he's not going to get much anytime soon.

I played my Captain card last week thinking Rooney would get off to a flier.

Anyone making any big transfers before the resumption of the league this week? I'm hoping Rooney can take his goal scoring form into the game at the weekend.

I could have sworn that last year when you sold players that had dropped in price you didn't actually suffer that loss to your total budget. As I look at it this year, you do retain those losses.

For example, Cazorla has droped to $8.3. I bought him at $8.5. Last year, I could have sworn that when you sold the player you received $8.5 to spend. This year, you only get $8.3 to spend, so you've lost that $.2 permanently unless you make it up with another sale. That really changes the dynamic. I like this better, but I wish I had known that it was the case. Maybe I'm wrong about last year, though.

Wait, so reading over the rules, you can lose money on a player, but you cannot make money on a player. How the hell does that make sense?

So if a player drops in price while on your team, you can only get his current price out of the player in a sale. On the flip side, if a player's price increases while on your team, you can only get what you paid out of him.

OK, so, you keep 1/2 of the profit on any player sale, but you suffer all of the losses. Good to know--wish I'd known this sooner.

Are you guys still doing this? I've been keeping an eye on mine and and sitting 2nd in the league. Sitting first in my old job league.

And @slappybrown sucks at this game!
