I actually feel bad for PA voters. I have two repugnant senators, but they didn't do a heel turn at least.

According to maga this is how you get deals done. Trump was strong and Canada folded.

Musk owns him. Just a blatantly bought and sold president and none of his idiot supporters can see it.
In any remotely normal timeline this alone would've been outrageous. It was so unseemly and....small. (And maybe even illegal) And yet it barely registers today.

It goes to show that the Tesla dealership protests, stockprice (biggest factor in all of this), and the general harassment Wankpanzer/Tesla owners are getting these days is working. Trump wants to make Wankpanzer/Tesla harassment a hate crime. Seriously.

50% of the department of ed laid off… surely this will raise the test scores they always claim to be worried about.

Student loan system is gonna be even more fun to deal with now that there’s less employees to handle the disaster.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... en-lawsuit
The Donald Trump administration has formally agreed to drop a landmark environmental justice case in Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley” region, marking a blow to clean air advocates in the region and a win for the Japanese petrochemical giant at the centre of the litigation.

Legal filings made public on Friday morning reveal that Trump’s Department of Justice agreed to dismiss a long-running lawsuit against the operators of a synthetic rubber plant in Reserve, Louisiana, which is allegedly largely responsible for some of the highest cancer risk rates in the US for the surrounding majority-Black neighborhoods.
Corporations polluting the environment and literally killing people = Cool.
Corporations keeping DEI initiatives = Illegal

Trump sure is making American great again.

Yeah PSLF processing was already backed up after the switch from Mohela. I guess if you can’t cancel student loan forgiveness, you can just make sure everybody is stuck in purgatory.

87% of Republicans approve of Trump's handling of the economy. Jim Jones wishes he had that much loyalty.

It's mostly just superficial impact at this point though right?

They'll start to get a little unnerve when they see that they've lost all their 401K gains for the year. But really, at this point we're just down the artificial gains that occurred after the election.

At some point people will realize that tariffs, firing government employees, and deregulating crypto is not actually a good economic plan.

The end of income based student loan repayment is going to cause a huge drop in consumer spending and universities will start cutting staff at some point this year if their federal funding remains cut.

Point being, most people aren't smart enough to understand that it takes time for these impacts to materialize. And the people that applaud these moves and are smart enough to know it will take time for the impact to manifest, are sociopaths with internet brain disease who believe either crypto or elon musk are their paths to enlightenment.

In fact I came here to complain about another $2T fire lighting coming.

At least we got those 11 trans athletes out of sports and a cooler name for a body of water though.

Was listening to PMT this morning, the Musk bots turned on Big Cat for complaining about Twitter going down on Monday.

Makes me think that most of the musk boosters are just BOTs, cause they need to cohabitate with the Barstool crowd, and jumping on Big Cat who's that loveable oaf character for one tweet feels like automated replies to me.

Somehow the claim that TL is listening to barstool content is less believable than this 87% approval rate stuff

The maga people I know are loving this. Anecdotally:
-doge is amazing (and have seen two different people make doge memes) and government workers are getting a taste of the real world. One acquaintance even told a friend of mine who is having to deal with a lot of fallout from this, “she’ll be fine, she can get a new job.”
-tariff back and forth - “this is how you get deals done”
-economy in general - “no one said it would be easy”

I am extremely late to PMT (last year was the first time I listened). PFT has been on chapo (rip since the one guy had a stroke and they’ve gone off the deep end), and I enjoyed his appearances. His “always bet against the pirates” gambling model was laid out and made me laugh.

And I like the sandgbagger videos when Whitney loses.
