Sprong to New Jersey, which is like his 4th team this year
Might be trying to go for Mike Sillinger's record:
Pens
Ducks
Caps
Wings
Kraken
Nucks
Devils
Am I missing one?

How big is that trade call queue????
Hockey Randomness
Let the record show that Marchand commanded the same return as Beauvillier.

Could you imagine the meltdown Pens fans would have if Dubas traded a rental Malkin for a 2nd round pick?
Couldn't have happened to a nicer fan base lol

Yeah, if that's the return...and it went to a division rival...I'd have just kept him. You traded a career Bruin, your captain, all that...and got a 2? From a team in your division, who you play at home in a week...?
Meh, that's a video game trade for me.

Feels like there should be more, but I think it's because he had two stops in Seattle.
I also thought he had a very brief stop in Utah, but he did not.

Would this make him the 2nd HHOF inductee that was involved in a trade after their induction?
The other inductee?

Return for Marchand is indeed a 2nd rounder in 27, which becomes a 28 1st rounder if the Panthers win two playoff rounds and MArchand plays in 50% of their playoff games. Boston retains half his salary.
Wow. That's bad.

That was a really bad loss for the flyers. Even ESPN knew and did not include Philly in the pregame "in the hunt" teams list.

****. I thought Hossa's induction was much later than 2020 so I didn't even bother to look him up.

Hockey Randomness
Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos reported Friday that Toronto offered Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten and two first-rounders to Carolina in exchange for Rantanen. The Hurricanes chose to accept the Stars’ package around Logan Stankoven, valuing him higher.
But, according to multiple sources, Carolina had another target.
The Hurricanes initially asked for Mitch Marner in return for Rantanen. Because it was for Rantanen, the Maple Leafs had to consider it. They told the winger their desire is to sign him, but they had to ask in this case. As is his right, Marner declined to move, re-iterating his desire to stay.
Neither the Maple Leafs, the Hurricanes, nor Marner’s agent, Darren Ferris, would comment. But that could have been the biggest blockbuster of the week.

Kypreos Is never right so I’m not sure I believe that
Hockey Randomness
Well, if I'm reading it right, Friedman is saying Kypreos was wrong. Kypreos had Minten, Cowen, and 2 firsts. Friedman says the offer was actually centered around Marner.
