When do ya'll stop saying "good morning" each day?
usually when morning ends. so noon

12pm or after is afternoon. 11:30 is still morning.

I work with people across many timezones though so most of the time its a combination of good morning/good afternoon anyways.

Afternoon is after noon. I would not correct you should you say it at 11:30 am.

Saying "good afternoon" before noon should be a fireable offense.

Afternoon starts after noon. If my business lost $74 on the year, would you call it profit?

Like c2i, I would not correct anyone on that though.

I'm gonna start telling my wife 'Good morning' when we're going to sleep at 11:30pm.

I had someone send me (and just to me) a "good afternoon" email in the 11-11:30a range, and it really threw me for a loop.

I'm on enough calls with people outside my time zone, that I just substitute good morning, good afternoon, good evening, etc with "Howdy partner *cowboy hat tip*" in my brain.

There is your problem. You spend too much time around idiots in banking that believe that 11:30 is a reasonable time to eat lunch.

Think you can tell people when to eat lunch?

Concur. It can't be afternoon until it's after noon.

I think a tougher question is when evening starts.

4:00 pm imo. After that, it’s evening. I could be convinced of 5:00.

I think this highlights my point. Morning, afternoon, and evening. When does morning start? Why is only afternoon specific?

I feel like I base evening on "is it dark/getting dark outside", which is probably the complete wrong thing to do.

The 5ish range is definitely nebulous. If someone says "early evening," I'm thinking like between 5:30 and 6:30. Late afternoon, like 3:30-4:30.

I’m the same so evening changes based on the time of year, but if I had to pick a time I’d say 6.
