Wife wanted me to watch Severance with her as she was doing a rewatch before season 2. First episode was kind of meh for me but glad I stick with it. Have two episodes to go in the first season and things picked up real quick.

Walter White's house is (finally) for sale for $4 million:

People are the worst.Quintana said that an average of 300 cars come past the house each day. In 2015, Quintana’s late mother, Fran Padilla, said that they had been besieged by visitors attempting to recreate a scene from Breaking Bad where White throws a pizza on the roof.
“We’ve had pizzas on our roof. We’ve had pizzas on our driveway; pizzas until we’re sick of looking at pizzas,” Padilla told NPR.
That same year, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan issued a call for fans to stop bombarding the house. “There is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof,” he said.
After an incident where one visitor left a package addressed to Walter White on their doorstep, Quintana and her siblings decided to erect more security.
“My brothers said, that’s it, we’re done, fence is going up,” Quintana told KOB4. “That’s too close for comfort.”
The listing’s high price reflects its likely future as a prized artifact or tourist destination, instead of a family dwelling.
“I hope they make it what the fans want,” Quintana said. “They want a B&B. They want a museum. They want access to it. Go for it!”

Seems like a good time to discuss successful crossover episodes, eh?
I think the New Girl ep crossing with Brooklyn 99 was pretty good (not the other way around, where it was just one scene in a car).
And uh....I know there are a bunch of others, just drawing a massive blank atm.

The first two episodes of The Pitt (medical show that takes place and was slightly filmed in Pittsburgh) are up on Max. I’m about 10-15 mins into the first episode. Very fast paced. We’ll see where it goes.

There was a crossover episode of Fresh Prince with The Jeffersons and Diff'rent Strokes.

The first episode of The Pitt is shockingly good. The real-time format feels fresh and exciting for a medical drama, and the characters feel very real/grounded. I decided to check it out just to see some beauty establishing shots of the city but this is legit. Haven’t watched episode 2 yet but I’m all in.

Same. It took me about halfway to get into it fully with regard to characters, plot lines, understanding things, but I’m glad I stuck with it. I audibly laughed a couple of times. It got a little graphic a couple times too (nudity and gore), which was a nice change of pace for a medical show. Makes it feel more real.
I haven’t watched the second episode either. I’m itching to, but they’re doing the weekly drop format, and I don’t know if I can handle that. I think I need all the episodes available.

This was solid overall. One main criticism I guess is it didn't have as many big laughs as previous Schur shows (even The Good Place). Danson was excellent. The main PI was a little generic.DigitalGypsy66 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2024 8:56 pmThis was really great, much like Shrinking or Ted Lasso. Some of the discussion and handling of the elderly hit a little close to home for me.
For Good Place fans...

Started (and got through the first 3 episodes of) American Primeval tonight on Netflix. Storyline is pretty good. A lot of gore and gruesome violence if you're into that. Also a shred of historical accuracy too which is neat

The Pitt is solid. That second episode with the elderly patient and the advanced directives (DNR or no intubation etc.) was very moving, as my mother made that decision and it was agonizing to go against her wishes, in essence "give up" on her. Ugh. Really well done and sadly I could relate.

We watched the fist two episodes of The Pitt last night and as others have mentioned...its good. Sucks to wait for weekly episodes though haha.

It's good but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the real-time pacing. Take the elderly patient story, in under two hours he came in, they tried all less invasive treatments, and now they're intubating him in 90 minutes? The idea that the siblings had any real time to mull over the moral dilemma is wiped out by the demand to maintain that pacing. Not to mention there isn't enough time to evaluate those earlier treatments in that time-span.
I know, suspension of disbelief and all, but I think needing to lean on it that much to maintain the gimmick takes away from the show.
It's still good, just have a nitpick about that one thing.

My wife started to nitpick some stuff as a PA, but then she just relaxed and treated it as a tv show and enjoyed it. I never watched 24, so this style of show is new to me (the hour breakdown each episode). .

I totally get that complaint in retrospect but in the moment didn't think twice about it.That's what a good story will do. I think the real-time pacing adds a sense of immediacy and intensity. And watching Wyle go from room to room, patient to patient, needing to quickly make multiple life or death decisions meanwhile the siblings are in one spot needing to make just one life or death decision was an interesting juxtaposition. I don't know how realistic it is since thankfully I've never been placed in that situation but it made for good storytelling.dodint wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 10:52 am It's good but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the real-time pacing.
