They sucked at putting on those greens. Made me feel good about myself when major champions are leaving birdie putts 2 and a half feet short

I watched the first few holes, and it's an interesting concept. I'll watch next week to see Rory, Tiger, and Max to see what kind of banter we get.
Admittedly, my biggest concern was the simulator playing catch-up mode like it was Mario Kart. If you're a primetime computer game based program, the last thing you'd want is a runaway so I figured there be a little handicap mode if somebody got out to too big a lead. No need to worry though, because that was and stayed incredibly one sided.
I thought it was okay. The thing I was looking forward to was the golfers talking out their thoughts on a shot with each other, I thought that could be interesting. The shot clock (which is a good thing don't get me wrong) kind of prohibited it because they were just running up to hit their ball and not really talking any strategy. Would be cool to add maybe 10 seconds to the clock, and tone down some of the other things going on for more player mic time on the broadcast. I don't care at all who wins this thing, I just wanted to be entertained by some of the personalities

It’s way too sterile too. The pros are boring, the commentators are boring, the competition is meh, etc

Also a **** ton of ads

I think they messed up by not getting LPGA and YouTube golfers

Right, Lowery and whoever was next to him were talking while their team member was setting up over their first putt and they muted the mic for some reason. Those were the kind of interactions I had hoped to hear more of. I think the chatter between the two guys not playing a shot is where the entertainment will be found, because whoever is playing the shot will be too focused to give anything meaningful.

I can see one week where the third is a YouTuber and the next is an LPGA player finding some success. But the broader aspect of this is not to grow "Golf" but to grow the PGA's image.

They need to let the ESPN+ stream be uncensored or something. Like I said last night, I want hear some trash talk without having mics get cut. Call someone a ****** for making a long putt against your team. Call yourself a dumb **** for hitting one OB. Just let it fly.

Rickie and Xander seemed like they were a little tuned up, but it didn't really reflect in the banter.

Yup. Hopefully they'll adjust some of these things in the coming weeks

Doing a winter sim league at a spot in the south hills. Individual scores, self-reported handicaps, and cash prizes (not insignificant i got $45 for winning a closest to the pin one week in the fall season).

What's the appropriate amount of stink you should make about sandbaggers? The guy that's going to win this week shot a 38 as a 20 HCP. They have a stableford scoring thing, so 27 points, the guy behind him is a "12 HCP" and shot -1.

0 stink allowed. if that guy is a big enough loser to lie about his handicap in a golf sim league, its not worth getting fussed up over

Seems like sim leagues have a lot in common with scrambles. Can’t really trust the rest of the teams to be honest about that stuff.

Well, I made a minor stink when we played our round last night (shot a 38 with a 7 HCP, so no net albatrosses unlike the leader).

But was early and talking to the kid that worked there, who is also in the league, about the top of the leaderboard. He said that they are looking at it.

I played in a league last year where you played two preliminary rounds that set your handicap. The system keeps track of scores and the two mulligans allowed. You could sandbag those first two weeks, I guess (lame) but your handicap moves through the year and since it was all automatically reported, it's kinda hard to cheat.

This year I'm playing in a league with just coworkers. We all know each other well and golf with each other regularly during the summer. We all chipped a small amount of money into a pot for prizes. Very laid back and we'll certainly be ribbing each other about scores.

My indoor league was similar. The handicap was derived from the rounds you turned in and moved as you went along. Not sure if Corsi carries them over from season to season.

I would assume that the handicap should be derived from your weekly scores.

I think they just got more engagement with the league this year and assumed the honors system was fine.

Hulu was down for the first half of it (at least, for me). By the time it came back online, the match was 5-1 so I figured what's the point of sticking around
