I’m supposed to fly tomorrow at 8:30 am.

What are the chances this flight is delayed?

I dunno. I just came from Giant Eagle and there seems to be a run on milk and bread.

Airport here might be fine, but it might also depend on whether your aircraft is coming from somewhere else. For example, if your aircraft is supposed to be coming to Pittsburgh on a 6:00 am flight from someplace like Washington that might be getting hammered by snow and ice, it might be delayed even if KPIT is fine. If it's like a Delta flight coming from Atlanta, however, you should be good.

Hell, we have snow in the forecast on Saturday morning. My son might get actual accumulation on Friday up in Clemson. Good times.

Incoming flight is tonight from Charlotte (on time and supposed to arrive at 9pm).

My flight is supposed to leave at 8:30. My biggest concern now is just getting to the airport (assuming once there it’s fine). So I just used points to get a room at the airport Marriott.

We get back Tuesday and left on the 23rd. How many inches should I expect to be cleaning off my car in the airport parking lot?

Probably couple inches of snow with an inch of ice underneath

It doesn’t look like we’re predicted to get much ice as of now.

Yeah but Dickie's car has been sitting out for 2 weeks. It's probably accumulated some snow and ice/frozen over stuff from last week, and now this.

That's a good idea. The state of the roads is immaterial if you're already there.

Looks like most of the area is closed here in central PA. Clearfield county has a bunch of 2 hour delays. Must be holding off a bit to see what happens.

Pretty much perfectly timed to hit us. They’re only calling for a few inches, but it just started snowing and will continue through the end of the day. With the uncertainty of how much will come down, Bellefonte closed for the day.

Kiddo is gonna have an iPad day.

PPS closed yesterday around 4pm. Just looking outside and I'd say we maybe have around 1-2 inches but the road is covered. Thank goodness I have my eggs and milk.

Ok I guess this big blob in Ohio right now is going to justify the widespread panic spread over the weekend?

It doesn't bother me personally given I have 4x4 and an uncle that owns a tire shop, but the state maintained country roads were very bad today at 9-10am. Penn dots inability to properly handle them should be addressed somehow. The township maintained roads were wet and slushy. I'm sure that the township trucks have to also traverse these roads on their way to maintain theirs. So why not just throw them some budget money to handle it?

10-12" inches here in KC depending on who you ask. I almost got killed three times in a five minute span from a flash freeze with the freezing rain that started the whole thing. I got lucky that the Papa John's delivery driver in front of me slid past his turn which gave me a reason to tap my brakes and discover the road had turned into an ice skating rink. I had three separate incidents then of people not realizing it and sliding through intersections or get totally sideways behind me.
Had a kid in a Mustang doing the ol, "this is cool, I'm going to burp the throttle and kick sideways" trick only to find himself in a ditch only going 15 mph.

I'm wondering if PennDOT focuses working on the city first and moving outward, because the PennDot roads around the city are usually way better than the city-plowed streets.

My street somehow got plowed today. Normally we’re a good 2-3 days after a snowfall.

Having an HOA pays dividends in the winter when the contracted plow truck has our roads cleaner than anything surrounding the neighborhood (still chose to work remote lol)

Same. I was shocked to see a salt truck on my road today. Usually it was the locals cleaning it out.

This morning's forecast for my local station's broadcast area for the next 2 days was: mid-high 70s, extreme high winds with elevated fire risk, rain, and snow.
