ESPN is angry. Indiana and SMU didn't play a top 25 team blah blah blah..... don't get your doors blown off by a .500 Oklahoma team for your 3rd loss and you'd be in.

Also this business of the auto bye for Top 4 conference champs needs to change if Arizona State got one and Texas didn't. Meanwhile Texas benefits IMO by getting to play those same Sun Devils assuming they beat Clemson. Do it like basketball where you can get the 1 seed without winning your conference.

I'd be pissed if I was Oregon. Yeah you get the bye but then you get the rematch with OSU or a game UT team, while IMO yeah, Texas has to play an extra game but they basically have a free path to the semis (no disrespect to Clemson DG).

So does PSU
vs SMU maybe but I give Boise a lot more respect than most do. PSU is the kind of team Boise has been known to get past IMO.

Huh, my employer is playing in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. So it's a home game. 50 yard line tickets are $45. Might have to check that out.

Going chalk in round one.
Texas over Clemson
PSU over SMU
Notre Dame over Indiana
Ohio State over Tennessee.

Quarterfinals ould be interesting.
Oregon over Ohio State (but this could easily be other way)
Georgia over Notre Dame
PSU over Boise (but we know how this could go)
Texas over Arizona State.

Semi finals
Texas over Oregon
Georgia over PSU

Finals
First time ever third meeting in one season?
Texas over Georgia

Apparently a small handful of teams have played 3 times but you have to go back to likely before leather helmets were invented.

I think ND stomps IU
PSU and SMU will be the best game, the kind of game where one chaotic sequence determines the game, and PSU lives in that space
I think either TN or OSU lays and egg, not sure which
And I think ASU wins

You know I'm not a Bama fan, and this is not meant to defend them, but there are definitely worse whiners out there.

A random musing. It's been common for years to introduce NFL players by whatever college they attended. How will that work in the transfer-portal era? List them all? Like, "Jason Smith, linebacker, Clemson, Arizona State, Texas A&M, then I think Ohio State offered more money, then back to Texas A&M, and then USC when they offered me even more money."

Have you seen some of the player intros? There’s plenty that say their high school or hometown. There was also “ball so hard university”.

Something kinda interesting to think about… had this year not had the 12 team playoff, would the CFP rankings stay the same? My guess is no.

As it stands, the playoff would have been Oregon vs PSU and Georgia vs Texas… just a repeat of the big ten and SEC championship games.

I think had this been last year, it would have been Oregon vs Notre Dame and a Georgia Texas three match.

Show me where I have complained about referees in OSU games since the Clemson fumble. I'll wait.
