Eh, gold gloves aren’t a great indicator. Jeter has the fifth most at ss yet he’s below average according to many.MalkinIsMyHomeboy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2024 11:07 pm he has the fourth most gold gloves in CF ever: https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/who-ha ... enterfield
I think that’s Hall worthy

Utley got 28.8%, so I guess he's out too. Though I disagree

Torri Hunter rarely finished in the top of the AL in any remotely important offensive category. Not an HoF guy

Even if Hunter doesn't get in this photo should hang in the hall:

After looking at the stats this is who I think:
Definitely - Ichiro, Manny, Arod (but the last two won't make it)
Borderline - Sabathia, Utley, Felix, Jones
Think these are all "Hall of the Very Good" guys. Sabathia probably gets in based on length of career, which got him 250 wins and 3000 strikeouts. Each of the others had stretches of 5 or so years where they were one of the best, or the best, at their positions. Felix has comparable rates to Sabathia but didn't do it as long, which hurts him. Utley and Jones both really fell off once they hit their 30's. If it were up to me I probably wouldn't put any of them in.
Who will make it this year? Ichiro, Sabathia, Wagner (because he's gone up every year and now in his last year he's less than 2 percentage points from making it).

I only chose 5 4 -- Ichiro, Manny, Andruw Jones, Felix, Vizquel
I agree that outside of Ichiro and the alleged steroid boys, it's very much a Hall of Very Good list.

I DQ'd A-Fraud because of his monstrous suspension that took him out for an entire year and somehow forgot that Manny got 50 games back in 2009. So by the logic I used on A-Fraud, I should have also applied to Manny. So he's now out.

100%. They're trying to abuse the system as much as possible before they're forced to comply with a salary cap. More extreme they go, the more concessions the other owners and league have to make to allow them to become compliant.Troy Loney wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 8:23 am Dodgers rushing to get these deferred money deals in before the crybaby owners make them stop

Sounds awesome. Maybe we should elect a president that will govern in the same mannerDickie Dunn wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 9:54 am100%.
