Damn. I hate Star Wars too. My uncle was given one and I'm trying to convince him to trade it on a PS5 so we can play together. He is still playing PS3.

Well if for some reason I decide to not give it to my nephew/nieces or their parents tell me no…then I’ll send it your way.

Thanks for the thought. I told him to take the CIB unit to GameStop (he is in Tennessee) and see what they give him. He hasn't reported back yet.

Looking at the GameStop site now a ps4 pro trade in gets you $82.50 if you are a pro member. Might be a bit more for him cause it’s a special edition and in the box but knowing GameStop that’s worth about $5 lol.

With Christmas fast approaching, might be worth checking eBay to see what they are selling for currently.

Thanks for the help

It has arrived and it's beautiful. Disc Drive arrives tomorrow then I can hook everything up and transfer all my stuff.

Is it wrong I'm jealous of the disc drive alone?

I'm just mad I paid 2x retail for the disc drive when I had one like a month ago when I had ordered and then cancelled the Ps5 Pro. Oh well... I got the system for normal price so overall can't complain.

It's a beaut, Clark.

Finished up DA:Veilguard today. I really enjoyed it overall. I think I was at about 100 hours, and as per usual took my time and completed every side quest on the first playthrough. The main story was pretty good, but the companion stories kinda overshadowed it IMO. Combat was fun as a rogue, although it did get a bit stale toward the end. Switching up companions gave you different strategic options, though, so that was cool. A little disappointed in no real new game+, but I almost immediately started a new game, created a new Rook, and switched classes to a mage. It's fun being able to skip the cutscenes and dialogue and just basically jump from event to event. Combat with the mage is, at least right now, WAY more fun and varied than the rogue was.
No one is a fan of paying full price of $70 for a game nowadays, but I can't complain about a great game that took that long and has opportunity for a fresh replay.

Indiana Jones game showed up this morning in gamepass, I haven't really heard much about this game, but I'm looking forward to trying it out

Let me know how it is, Eddy. I'm imaging it'll be an action puzzle kind of game, which is something I love. Hopefully this is a good one.

Oh nice I'll install it later today. I'd be way more excited about it if it was 3rd person.

I played for an hour, it is exactly this. Controls kinda suck, but I just may not be used to game like this. It was certainly fun playing as Indy. Music is great, graphics are good and bad. I will continue to play even though something feels kinda wonky about it.count2infinity wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 8:21 am Let me know how it is, Eddy. Yeah I played a bit last night too. It's... fine? The cut scenes feel like Indy but as soon as it goes back to first person it just feels so bland. There's too much of just "hit X to ____." It's almost like they made a film and then remembered it was supposed to be a game. The choice to go first person is so **** baffling.

Agree. I don't want to have to walk up to a tree branch and hit x and then left to move it out of my way. It seems pointless.

I won't be able to play for a while because of the life decisions I've made and the licensing deal that keeps it 1P excls to MSFT for a bit, but everything I've seen about the game is sort of how nocera describes it. The gameplay itself looks like it's from like 15 years ago in terms of the interact mechanics. But Indy is an all-timer, and Troy Baker is vry good.
Video Games
I've spent entirely way too much time trying to figure out what this is, so I'm just going to ask: 1P excls to MSFT
And I was floored to find out that wasn't actually Harrison Ford doing the voice, even my wife was like "they got him to do the voice?" from a different room
I like cracking the whip in the game, easily my favorite part

1P whatever - 1st party exclusive to Microsoft until they release it to Sony

Oh well that makes sense. Thanks

I think I need a better GPU for that game. Recommended AMD card is a 7700XT, I have a 5700XT. But I'm not going to pay full pop for a single player game. Get real.
I've kind of been in a rut, game wise. I haven't played any vidya games since grumpily finishing season 7 of BF 2042. I don't want to upgrade now when I'm not playing anything, only to be a generation behind when the next Battlefield comes out in about a year. Then again, the tariff talk has me concerned about the ability to PAY for a graphics card in a years' time. I haven't checked inventory myself, but a couple of reddit posts lately have me worried that people are hoarding PC parts for that very reason.
I'd love to get into Cities Skylines 2, but even after a year it's still very underwhelming and lacks many of the features the first game had at this point in its lifecycle. Very odd how these publishers can't deliver what they used to, just a few years ago.
