This team has lost three games to sub-.500 teams, two of which are splitting a combined 6 wins between them. Short week back-to-back divisional games, s**t weather, crapshoot outcome. Like with the grounding/illegal touch thing, there's no need to overthink this. It's just that there are habitually a lot of the same miscues that reappear in these games, and the usually reliable defense isn't getting off the field in critical situations.

For the Browns, beating the Steelers at home is as close as they get to a championship. I wish them well for the balance of 2024.

It's not rocket surgery, it was just a weird play. No need to overthink it.
I don't think this is true. Otherwise it would be 'intentional grounding' every time you get one of those near-fumble situations when a QB is hit when they throw. My understanding is they're saying the ball wasn't thrown downfield because of the hit. Put another way, I'm looking at the 'intentional' part and you're focusing on the 'grounding' part and we're passing each other.

Also, on those hail Mary plays do any teams position an offensive player 4-5 yards in trail of the jump ball scrum? Defenses are supposed to volleyball spike the ball down and back towards the line in those situations.

Watt had one pressure over 28 rushes and was only double teamed three times. If he can't get up for a snow game against a division rival with the guy that stole his DPOY last season, that's not encouraging.

Yeah, this. And like someone else said, if the lineman isn't facing the QB and didn't try to 'catch' the ball, it's probably just an incomplete pass/almost fumble. Which would've been better IMO, because then Tomlin couldn't Tomlin the decision of accepting the penalty.

Just got caught up on the end of the game.

Holy hell Tomlin. Way to botch everything. WTF was accepting that penalty.

Then burn a timeout.

That’s all time bad.

Throw it to CJ and Mills and Yancey. Also Hastings. Thigpen was the best though clearly

CJ “can jump” Johnson
- Myron Cope

I had a CJ jersey.

Also Arrow to Thigpen on Gameday ‘98 was a guaranteed touchdown.

Yeah Lipps was my first favorite. Not in that group song though. I think Bam Morris ran for that team? Was he before or after Foster hmm
