One of the main reasons he's in this position at all is because he's had an anomaly of a career that has been unencumbered by injuries. Enjoying the fact that the injuries just might be coming back to bite him now is delicious and yes, I do enjoy it.

Don't worry though, they'll prop him up and feed him enough ENG to get him there.

It sounds like, from multiple people, Montgomery wanted to go to St Louis. They didn't extend Bannister from interim to permanent until Boston beat Toronto (so Monty wasn't going to be fired), and Monty turned down a bunch of extension offers from Boston.
