Correct. A new coach won't be a miracle cure but we need to the reset button ASAP

77 goals against in 19 games that’s over 4 per game

It’s tough to call out individual players. The entire team **** sucks. At least the X Generation were lovable losers. They actually tried most of the time but were just wholly untalented. This team is basically the opposite.

You expected the X gen team to be bad but like you said they were lovable losers.

This team has old as dirt high end talent and a bunch of scraps.

Burn it down.

I’d put Graves on waivers tomorrow and health bomb O’Connor.

Gotta create some accountability. No reason some journeyman in Wilkes couldn’t outperform graves

Columbus hadn’t won a game since 10/30 until tonight. 6 losses in a row most of which weren’t close.

The Pens are a cure to losing teams.

Swapping a coach is a whole lot easier than trying to overhaul the roster in the middle of the season.

I'm not saying the roster is good, but they should also be playing better than they currently are.

Yeah agreed. This roster absolutely is not “lose 6-2 to the BJs” bad

I don’t know. The more I look at it, I think it is. It got older, there was no major acquisition, and Dubas took fliers on guy who are trash. Plus his FA signings are mostly butt mud.

About 6-7 months ago, this same essential roster went on a tear to push for the playoffs. I ain't buying it.

Sure, they were likely punching above their weight during that time, but they also aren't "go down 6-0 in one period" bad. This team just appears lost in all 3-zones.

Is there really a point to paying a coach to not be here the next however many and a half years (whatever Sully's extension is) and still get the same results? Is a new coach going to magically turn Karlsson into Brian Leetch? Is he going to turn Graves into something more than a traffic cone?

Not sure if it even matters. My fear would be having young guys coming up and poisoning their mentality if the coach is tuned out.

Again, probably not a thing, but the Pens look absolutely disinterested.

Who cares about paying a coach to not be here? It was a stupid extension at the time, and it looks even worse now. NHL coaches generally don't have a long shelf-life.
