Does it look like Sportsnet Pittsburgh is going to stay around now? I can get it, channel 843 with Comcast. There had been some talk a while ago about it going away. Hope not.

I haven't heard any talk of it going away. Do you have a link?Pensfan17201 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 5:44 pm Does it look like Sportsnet Pittsburgh is going to stay around now? I can get it, channel 843 with Comcast. There had been some talk a while ago about it going away. Hope not.
I've had since it started and it's been trouble free. They have a big budget for recorded music vs ATT Sports.

No link, but it was in doubt about a year ago and there was some discussion on this forum last year or early this year about it. But then I thought I heard something about it being able to broadcast without interferences or having to shut down now, I’m not sure but I thought someone here might know how this all turned out. I did not attempt a search.

You do have to be within the home market of the Pens to get it. If 17201 is your zip, I get it in 17601.Pensfan17201 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 7:38 pm No link, but it was in doubt about a year ago and there was some discussion on this forum last year or early this year about it. Yes, I have no problem getting it here in 17201 but I was referring to the possibility of the whole network. I think maybe it was when it was called by another name but perhaps that has been all straightened out and it comes back to me now that it was going to be shut down by the end of last year but obviously it never happened. I was just wondering if anyone heard about it’s future. Somebody here commented on it back then.

It used to be Root Sports or AT&T Sports Network. DirectTv or whichever conglomerate owns those were shutting down the local sports networks.
The Pens ownership group (which also owns NESN) created Sportsnet Pittsburgh as a replacement for Root/AT&T Sports Network.
Sportsnet isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Sounds like you're talking about the cable channel. Yes, that's available if you had ATT sports. I thought you were talking about their new app outside of cable.Pensfan17201 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 7:45 pm Yes, I have no problem getting it here in 17201 but I was referring to the possibility of the whole network. It’s not going anywhere. It was up in the air before FSG bought it. Maybe that’s what you’re remembering.

They also have a subscription based streaming app now. And I’m actually able to stream in market via my cable provider which is nice for watching Pirate games on my back deck.

Are you doing this on a TV or a tablet? I'd like to stream to a TV but doesn't seem to be supported.King Colby wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:11 am They also have a subscription based streaming app now. Thanks gents. I'll grab a fire stick. All I have are android TVs and their app choices are limited (no directv either)
