A 1-2-3 ninth? Odd.
Santana has been tremendous. And at this point they need to bring Chapman back for a second season

Triolo now worth more WAR on the season than Ke’Bryan hayes. Also Triolo has an ops over 850 since Hayes went on the IL
This isn’t to say that Triolo is good, but he is certainly doing more things than Hayes.

His WAR is better than Gonzales, too (.7 vs. 1.0)
Pirates claimed LHP "Joey Wentz" from the Tigers. Good strikeout numbers 60 in 38 appearances. <shrug>

They're both effectively 0 WAR on Fangraphs.
Grandal is also the 5th leading WAR player from their data. Which is to reinforce how exceptionally unproductive every position player on this team has been (except Cruz and Reynolds)

Checked in on Priester, currently has an 8 ERA in 20 innings for the Red Sox.

Imanaga is going to toss a no hitter.
Edit: taken out after 7, Cubs are going to toss a no hitter.

- I swear the Pirates get no hit more than any other team.
- Our 1B has pitched 3 times in less than 2 weeks.
- Henry Davis is a scrub and the collective 2021 draft class is an unmitigated disaster that even Bubba keeping the same trajectory can't save. Lawlar/Meyer truther forever.

Davis has a slugging percentage that would be second in the international league if he had enough at bats

Turned 20 less than 3 months ago. Generally only phenoms are at AA at 19yo. But at his size his peak seems sooner. It would have been nice to see him go on a tear before being promoted. But his unique eye at the plate forces him to move up to be challenged. A weird mix of needing patience with him vs lowering expectations for him quickly if he takes a while to adjust.

Is this a longwinded way of saying they're probably gonna ruin his development?LeopardLetang wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 10:12 pm Termarr 2-29 at AA. 5bb 7k
