I think I mentioned before that Steve Mears' inlaws live a few doors down from me. His father in law very kindly stopped over today to drop off a couple of items for us. He joked that they couldn't root for the Pens anymore. They are actually headed to Columbus this weekend to help with moving.

I love the 90s era banner, but can't figure out the signature on the puck. Any ideas?

So is there more to the story about Mears taking the job in Columbus? Giving away stuff because Mears took another job seems to be a bit extreme.

I'm also voting no on the Hrdina and Hedberg signatures. Hrdina's sig is very rounded and loopy and the J doesn't connect like it is on the puck.

The Hedberg one is close, but to me it looks like that he uses a much different J than the one on the puck. That J also looks like something that has remained constant through his career.

Lange was 26 with his first season with the Pens. But I only knew him as seasoned veteran broadcaster by the time I moved to PA in '93. Between Lange and Myron Cope I always associated these radio guys as older, almost stately.

So that picture of Brand is pretty underwhelming and that's all I know about him, so...meh.
