I just read that the bass player from Train slipped and fell in a shower and died at 58.
It truly wasn't a Drive By.

Grayson Murray, who won the Sony Open back in January, died this morning at the age of 30. He was entered in the Charles Schwab Challenge this week but withdrew after 16 holes on Friday, citing illness. Murray has talked for years about his struggles with alcoholism and depression and seemed to be back on the right track.

The interview with Peter Malnati and Amanda Balionis was tough to watch. He was devastated.

Not sure how real this is, but the timeline of BirdsArentReal really took a weird turn over the last few weeks.

Considering that account is ridiculous and he has a book coming out in 2 weeks, I’m gonna go with “not real at all.”

Man. Mary Poppins, Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh. Plus all the park music including it’s a small world, great big beautiful tomorrow, tiki room, one little spark of inspiration. The Sherman Brothers are legends.

argh ****. “Only” 71

I didn’t watch him play but I associate him a lot with videos I watched in the mid 2000s about basketball drills and moves

Eff cancer.

Saw him once when he was doing a Providence/ND game for NBC. That’s the extent of my Bill Walton stories.

Bill Walton was a guy who just seemed like he loved his life. Amazing in college and early nba before injuries got to him, and a unique broadcaster who was fun to listen to. Just seemed like a good dude.

It seems like Larry Allen played in the league forever ago, but he was still playing in 2007 and only 52 years old when he passed. The life of an nfl player is strange

As much as none of us probably wants to admit it, 2007 was a long time ago.

More time between now and 2007 than the Smashing Pumpkins song 1979 relative to the day it came out.

90 years old, flying alone, dies in a plane crash. I don’t know. As far as ways to die in your 90s, seems like a bad ass way to go.

The literal pale blue dot.

Earthrise is among the most important historical documents* in human history. They had a finite amount of film for the still camera and Anders was initially (if jokingly) scolded for taking photos off-schedule. As I recall the Apollo 8 crew observed the vignette of Earth going right-to-left, but NASA chose to release the photo in the 'rise' orientation rotated 90°clockwise.

1968 was some year....

The great and oft-forgotten HBO miniseries “From the Earth to the Moon” does an excellent job framing NASA’s part in an otherwise awful 1968. I hadn’t really thought of all of those events happening in one year, just separate terrible events.
