In the last decade or so, there’s been a shift in stance technique from “be big” to “be comfortable”Bobrovsky being a squid is confusing...
What's up with Bobrovsky's stance and save process @@meow ?
Small chest a lot for me...is it all potential energy to try to explode into shots...? Is that too much credit? Not enough?
Bob has always been a bit too tight of a stance for me. My opinion is he thinks he’s like a coiled snake. But my thought is that he shows a lot of overlap of gear. I tried to never have overlap. My blocker shouldn’t cover any of my leg pads. My glove shouldn’t cover my chest. That also puts your glove into the middle of its responsible area, which minimizes the furthest distance you’d have to move it.
All that, the only real issue I have with him is that his shoulders are always so far forward. Peter Aubrey drilled into me a chest up head up mentality that I still coach to young goalies
