Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere but a few prospects updates

-Tristan Broz scored the OT winner to send Denver to the final in a matchup against BC

-Brayden Yager had a hat trick and 5 points for Moose Jaw in Game 2 of the second round against Swift Current. Owen Pickering went +3 with an assist in a 7-2 win in Game 1

Again a less than ideal update tonight.

4/15 Results:
NYI Regulation Win (clinched)
WSH Regulation Win
PIT Regulation Win
DET OT Win

Max points standings as of 4/13 (current regulation wins):

Washington 91 (31 RW) - 1 GR
----------------
Detroit 91 (27 RW) - 1 GR
Pens 90 (32 RW) - 1 GR
Philly 89 (30 RW) - 1 GR

Remaining Games:
4/16 WSH @ PHI
4/16 DET @ MTL
4/17 PIT @ NYI

Make-it Scenarios:

WSH: (1) Any win (2) OTL, DET any loss, PIT Regulation Loss

DET: (1) Any Win, WSH any loss, (2) OTL, WSH Regulation Loss, PIT Regulation Loss

PHI: (1) Regulation Win, DET Regulation Loss, PIT Regulation Loss

PIT: (1) Regulation Win, WSH any loss, DET any loss, (2) OT Loss, WSH Regulation Loss, DET Regulation Loss

Important Note: Philly will pull their goaltender in a tie game, as they need to win in Regulation to tie the first 3 tiebreaker with Washington and win the 4th (H2H). This makes it unlikely that the game goes to OT and WSH gets the OTL

Until now, I hadn't seen what the schedule was. I'm gonna say a trunkload of rosaries tonight to repent for having to root for the Flyers.

We're in this situation due to our own stupidity, but I can't believe we haven't gotten any help down the stretch here.

Well...that's not totally fair either.

Over the last three weeks...

The Penguins lead the entire NHL with 19 points...
Philadelphia is third worst with 8, Detroit is 7th worst with 9, so is NJ...Washington has 10 points. The only team that played above .500 is the Islanders (2nd in the NHL to us at 17 points)...

Philly, Detroit, NJ, and Washington have combined for 14 wins in 43 games...that's really pretty bad for three alleged playoff teams...

Yeah we got a ton of help to even be in this position to have a chance. The Flyers and Caps have been garbage the last three-ish weeks.

it’s frustrating because ultimately it’ll likely be too little too late but the team showed some promise down the stretch. Sid has been arguably the best player in the league through April, Bunting adds a very much needed dimension to the offense and power play and Graves was an absolute net negative. At the very least I have more confidence going into next season

They did this to themselves. Win and need help? We all know where this is going, and that's just being honest.

100% true. clearly they learned absolutely nothing from last year. how many 3rd period multi-goal leads did they blow? how awful were they when Jake got traded? is it just coincidence that they got better when Graves went on IR?
the worst part of all of this is that they will just miss the playoffs at a time when Sid is showing why he's one of the best ever. his playoff performance could've been epic.

Guys, they're 8-1-3 in their last 12. Can we enjoy the finish instead of rehashing the same ****?

"They need to play better" ... they played better. What do you want?

Yeah me too. He's been playing lights out this year. He doesn't know how to do anything else. It's in his DNA.

Flyers gonna win tonight.

Its also hard to beat a team on back to back nights, although Montreal might be toast after blowing that lead

Yeah I am throwing some change at the flyers tonight. My prediction is PHI win, DET win sadly.

The Pens have had the best record in the NHL for a significant stretch of games, so that's something to build on.

I think a few of the players who stepped up during this time (DOC, POJ) have solidified roles for next season. Bunting proved to be a valuable acquisition who has fit in nicely here. 87, 71, and 65 all had heroic moments during this stretch.

There's still a glimmer of hope, but if they don't make it, at least they can say they left it all out there.

I know you're being a funny guy but I'd rather fill out the roster with 2-3 good players for that price.

I can certainly live with 10-87-17 and 8-71-67 as my top 6 to start the year

A great third liner and a defenseman who can take the #4 spot with 58, 65, and 28

Dubas should be able to obtain players such as this... but Smith and Graves were bad acquisitions, so who knows.

we'll have a bit of cap space when Dubas trades Jarry in the offseason too

Was Smith a bad get? Or was he in his feels about leaving Vegas and it impacted him? I don’t know if I blame scouting or Dubas for him sucking.

Graves, that’s a major miss.
