That looks dumb. Also, the trailer for The Crow is bad.

I'm confused... Is the monster supposed to be emo now? Bale is normally very dependable but I'm not sure about this.

JFC I just watched the trailer for The Crow. What a disaster. It's dated and a product of its time, but I love The Crow and Brandon Lee is excellent in the role. It's gritty, violent, weird, heartfelt, and a tight 90ish minutes. This looks to have none of that and if there is anything the world of The Crow doesn't need it's more explanation as to what the **** is going on.

It’s hard to get too upset about the quality of The Crow reboot when there are already 3 really shitty Crow movies.

Oh boy are you in for a treat. City of Angels actually isn’t that bad. Please watch them all and report back.

I'm sure I've said this before but seasons 3-6 are absolutely perfect. The characters feel real, the storylines are still grounded in reality (most of them). A lot of the writing is classic LD. Season 7 starts to get more outlandish but you have the amazing season long arc of George's wedding. 8 and 9 throws out all of the rules. The characters are caricatures of themselves by this point. The storylines have no sense of reality at all. But, some of the most classic "Seinfeldian" stuff happens in these two seasons. Those two seasons hold up really well if you just happen to flip on an episode. If you're binging and watching in order, they feel like outliers.
I thought the Ringer had a decent read on the finale, which LD returned to write: https://www.theringer.com/tv/2024/4/4/2 ... infeld-end

20 Days in Mariupol was deeply moving. Tough watch, obviously.

Not to go to far into political or news, but they went from a normal functioning city to a bombed out desolate city in weeks.

So a shared psychosis with all of the musical sequences being hallucinations. It looks really beautiful, that lost shot is great, but I’m still not sold.

Have no desire to watch the first one again. That's a really good trailer and I'll give it a shot, apparently there's 15 songs they sing to? Is that The Batman movie font?

As someone that loathes musicals this might be the worst premise for one.

Loved the first one. Don't mind musicals. Not completely sold on this one, but at least willing to wait and see. I guess I can kinda see how they could make it work, but if it ends up being the equivalent of 15 dream sequences with a story woven around it I think that might be lame. I dunno.

When a TV show does a musical episode, that’s a fairly decent sign that they’re out of ideas. A lot of them end up being pretty fun like the Buffy or Sunny musicals, but mostly that’s because they’re short and the show returns to normal by the end of the episode. I think the reason why I’m not sold on Joker 2 being a musical is because I can imagine so many different and more exciting ideas for a sequel.

I’d rather see Joker and Batman than Joker and Gaga.

I didn't realize Weir had written another one after Artemis (which I really enjoyed). Guess I'll have to read it before the movie gets released.

I enjoyed it. Though, admittedly, I listened to the audiobook instead of read it. I genuinely would recommend that.
