Furthermore, the plastic ones suck. I had one from Giant Eagle break on my way into the house the other day and my canned goods rolled all over the place. Fortunately it wasn’t holding something more perishable.

Plastic bags are now banned here in CO, and most places have paper for purchase.
Doing errands is fine, but it gets annoying when you're walking around and jumping in and out of small shops because I'm not carrying reusable bags for 2 hrs on the chance that we buy something.

Walmart grocery pickup started doing bring your own bags, which has been really great. I've had reusable bags in my cars for years, but now I have a couple of sterilite baskets that I keep in there for groceries. They bring it out, and I help them load it into baskets and bags. No endless amounts of plastic bags accumulating in my garage waiting to be recycled.
The municipalities down here are all over the place. Some places do not have bags or plastic straws, but a mile down the road in a different town or city, they have no bag restrictions. What's crazy is that the little town we used to live tried to ban plastic bags - our overenthusiastic mayor always tried doing or pushing this type of stuff - but that quickly got squashed because one of the largest plastic bag makers HQ or corporate office (Hilex Poly) is in town. D'oh! He also wanted to create a municipal ISP, but Spectrum via our local legislators slapped that down pretty quick.

Paper straws grind my gears way more than needing reusable bags.

Paper straws suck. And not in the good way.
I will miss the plastic bags for dog waste clean up. But beyond that, they can go and I’d have zero problems.

You know, I just realized that our Target still has plastic bags and doesn’t charge for them. I wonder if they were able to somehow get an exemption.

My neighbor has some sort of biodegradable doggie poo bags that comes in a container the size of a really small roll of toilet paper that she attaches to the leash for that stuff.Paper straws suck. And not in the good way.

That's what we use, you can order like a thousand of them on Amazon. I find regular plastic bags are not thick enough anyway imoMy neighbor has some sort of biodegradable doggie poo bags that comes in a container the size of a really small roll of toilet paper that she attaches to the leash for that stuff.Paper straws suck. We own stainless steel straws, and they are wonderful.
They also make plant-based biodegradable "plastic" straws, so I have no idea why paper straws still exist... they suck (pun intended)

How do I clean out cat litter without plastic grocery bags?

Yup. We have those for walks and whatnot. My dogs just go in our fenced in backyard. Free bags are nice for our weekly pickup is my only comment. I’ll buy bags, no problem. My neighbor has some sort of biodegradable doggie poo bags that comes in a container the size of a really small roll of toilet paper that she attaches to the leash for that stuff.Paper straws suck. I have no issue sacrificing “luxuries” like plastic straws and plastic bags to stifle pollution but one thing that feels intellectually insulting is how those bans seem more token and companies, who are by and large much more responsible for the current state of the climate crisis than individual consumers
like even beyond consumption, corporations are responsible for for the ease and marketing of so much of the problem products and outside of token “concern” and a random commercial talking about how much they care about the environment, it’s all lip service. It’s depressing knowing that the corporate machine is what runs the world and has such influence on global politics

So apparently Mike Tyson is boxing Jake Paul, and swears he’s going to end him. Please, please let the old school Tyson loose. For humanity.
Randomness Dos
Are any of the folks who would be fans of Jake Paul even old enough to remember Mike Tyson as an active boxer? I'm thinking no.
As someone who is old enough to remember Mike Tyson as an active boxer, I would love to see him obliterate Jake Paul.

We were talking about this at work and I mentioned that for most Jake Paul fans Mike Tyson is a cartoon that talks to a pigeon.

Mike Tyson comes into my social media peripheral vision on occasion. That dude can still move and throw hands. Hopefully he can knock Paul out before he runs out of gas

No way Mike gets sanctioned/licensed to fight. It’ll be an exhibition. Something feels off about these fights. No proof of fixing but it always feels very off.

Stop trying to squash our hopes.

Pretty obvious to me that it will just be an exhibition.

You think Mike cares about it being sanctioned?
