She said she'd stay in until at least Super Tuesday. Good for hear, she kept her word.

Apparently she's not endorsing him, but challenging him to earn the trust of her followers.

That's just as pathetic, which is not at all surprising.

So not for the Musk thread - but I've been thinking about this. How does a guy who leads the head of a major U.S. defense contractor get to say Joe Biden is committing Treason on X? Especially if he's meeting with Trump to be a donor? Thing seems awfully murkey there, yea?

I'll just say that I won't be surprised if he doesn't get as many gov't. contracts in the future.

Also I saw someone use the phrase Dementia Don today. That's a good one.

Dare I ask what Musk thinks is worthy of the treason label?

These often aren't super competitive bids. The country isn't exactly awash in viable spaceflight alternatives.I'll just say that I won't be surprised if he doesn't get as many gov't. contracts in the future.

No, because we have free speech and free association in this country, and First Amendment retaliation is illegal. Under Board of Comm'rs, Wabaunsee Cty. v. Umbehr, 518 U.S. 668 (1996) and O'Hare Truck Service, Inc. v. City of Northlake, 518 U.S. 712 (1996), it is illegal for the government to either: (1) terminate or refuse to renew a government contract in retaliation for an independent government contractor's exercise of the freedom of speech; or (2) retaliate against a contractor or a provider of services for the exercise of rights of political association or the expression of political allegiance, which includes campaigning against the reelection of a government official and/or supporting the political opponent of a government official.
In other words, if the fedgov terminates SpaceX as a contractor based on what Elon Musk says about Joe Biden, or who Elon Musk associates with, or who Elon may choose to donate to or to support or not support in an election, Elon would get even richer because SpaceX would sue the fedgov and win.

"“I fear our revolution will have been in vain if a Virginia farmer is to be held in hock to a New York stock jobber, who in turn is in hock to a London banker. The opportunities for avarice and corruption would certainly prove irresistible.” Thomas Jefferson expressing his instinctive revulsion to Alexander Hamilton's debt plan, in one of the better scenes from HBO's "John Adams"
Never mind cancelling contracts. Imagine the President's biggest personal creditor being the CEO of a government contractor.

Anyone wanting to buy a politician would have to get in line behind big oil, big pharma, and Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and every other member of the military-industrial complex. That's a horse the left the barn decades ago.

We should probably do something about that.

Yes, yes, yes, yes.............I remember that time that all other previous presidents were personally financially indebted to defense contractor CEOs to the tune of potentially hundreds of millions of American monies.

So let me get this straight.Anyone wanting to buy a politician would have to get in line behind big oil, big pharma, and Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and every other member of the military-industrial complex. That's a horse the left the barn decades ago.
We're okay with the government officials taking bribes, but we're not okay with government action as a result of a bribe?
So like, sure do all the bribing and favoritism you want, but you may absolutely not have your precious government contracts terminated for bribing the opponent.
