They're largely responsible for un-**** the Red Sox, correct? They did similar with Liverpool. Keeping the good times going seems to be a new type of project for them, though the "good times" have fallen very short the past few years.I will renew my assertion that I hope FSG thinks outside of the nepotism box here and hires actual business and talent management people. Reading through threads of people bringing up former players and television sports analysts will give me an aneurysm so I'm just going to peace out until they make a selection.

That's a good point. This franchise and the three data analysts they keep locked in a broom closet are way behind the curve at this point. They were also ahead of the curve in terms of analytics with both the Sox and LiverpoolThey're largely responsible for **** the Red Sox, correct? The pittsburgh hack media which is, well, all of them, clamoring for Kyle Dubas to the point of also suggesting its close to a done deal is on brand.
Why wouldn't we want an already employed GM whose team never made it past the first round, who will also be retained if they do this time around?

I hate myself so I went to r/penguins and the newest topic was someone saying we should hire Bergevin.

That kind of thankfulness only comes with someone getting paid for nothing. Someone needs to figure out what he actually did.

Someone asked about AGMs, I've had a couple people tell me that Ray Whitney is a name (as mentioned)...he's putting in the work, very connected...
I think Pat Verbeek just landed somewhere, right? Anaheim?
Probably not for a GM role, but someone told me look out for Sean Burke to transition in that direction...
There's also a bunch of LADIES! out there now that folks are hiring...to mixed results.

Hire Bergevin and fire Sullivan. Those people REALLY want Sullivan canned.

I've been one to suggest letting sullivan go, knowing he'd have a new job within hours

Happy to see them go but wow, the next GM will have an uphill battle with the lack of assets and handful of killer contracts.

I'd hire her away from the Canucks.
Honestly, I don't know who I'd hire as GM but I'm down with you as scouting director and then I'd make meow a goalie coach because all bad goalies eventually become goalie coaches.

yes, but that was 20 years ago. As a Red Sox fan, I feel very unenthused about how the team has been run the last couple years. Not signing Betts to a long term deal is one of the most baffling decisions in my lifetimeThey're largely responsible for **** the Red Sox, correct?I will renew my assertion that I hope FSG thinks outside of the nepotism box here and hires actual business and talent management people. The Sox don’t really seem to have a near term of long term plan for improving and it concerns me for the Pens. Albeit they are different businesses being run in different cities in different sports, but FSG seems to be more concerned with shaving costs than competing at times

I don’t know if you’ve heard, MIMH, but they don’t have a GM at the moment

yeah but why is the head coach doing the interview? shouldn’t someone high up in org management doing it?
it’s like if we fired the head of product management and had the head of software engineering do the exit interview. Doesn’t make a ton of sense to me
