Company closed a significant acquisition last week. CEO held an introductory Town Hall on Tuesday, required attendance, move all other meetings, etc, etc.
He took 8 minutes and said nothing they hadn't already said in email communications.
So.... thanks for that?

also, how do you do property trading/deals, if at all?
for us anything is on the table including making partnerships (say 3 of us have a property each, we’ll go 33% each and split profits/house purchases)

I play with a 9 and 5 year old. We are lucky for houses to not get shoved into someone’s nose…You guys play "collect fines" with free parking?

Going through an inspection report and whomever made this document had their head in the clouds. 23 physical measurements need made, 8 of which have a plus minus tolerance that would make them have a negative length if the most extreme case happened.

He didn't say he doesn't barter, he said your splitting of profits is dumb. It's called MONOPOLY, not socialism.

and it’s not just partnerships in properties; when we play anything is in the table. Insurance, free rides as part of deals, etc. nothing is off the table
it turns the game from a standard property management game to a negotiation game which can be stressful but also fun

Yeah, all of that stuff is on the table when I play too...rent immunity, all of that kind of stuff...hell, one time I worked out a deal to actually purchase "Go" where I got a cut every time someone went around.
One thing that I've never done is socialized the game by sharing a monopoly with the other players...I pray that you had at least a 4 or 5+ player game to justify such, as you put it correctly, "limp dicked" behavior haha

Based on what mimh is saying, I would guess he has played once and it's still going to this day by mail...

You and your lightweight games. Wait until you play Cards Against Humanity with your in-laws and end up having to explain 'bukkake' to your father-in-law, who introduced himself to you by regaling you with the story of how he once shot a fleeing felony suspect in the back - twice - with a shotgun and lamented that such a shoot would be illegal today.

tif seems like a fairly intelligent guy, so I’m quite shocked at him agreeing to play CAH with his in-laws. That’s an easy ‘no’. Fake a knee injury or something

Agreed but for a different reason. I’ve never enjoyed the CAH/Apples to Apples type games. I like feeling creative when I play and those games take the fun away but already writing out the punchlines

I'm off tomorrow, and just wrote a lengthy e-mail about an upcoming project that I need multiple teams involved in. It'll likely generate a number of responses, so to save me from being annoyed at the end of the day, I'm going to click 'send' right before I logoff and just deal with the nonsense on Thursday.

My son has his first real job, with direct deposit/W4/etc. He worked one day last week and called my wife to see if they had deposited his paycheck yet. We had a good laugh about that. Poor kid.
