USMNT selection show on Wednesday. My predictions for the 26 man roster:
Goalkeepers (3):
Zack Steffen
Matt Turner
Sean Johnson
Steffen and Turner are locks, though Turner has been battling an injury. I think Johnson gets a TYFYS spot as he'll be too old come 2026.
Fullbacks (5):
Antonee Robinson
Sergino Dest
DeAndre Yedlin
Reggie Cannon
Joe Scally
Robinson and Dest are the locked on starters. I believe Yedlin is the only guy in consideration for the entire roster that has World Cup experience. He's an imperfect player, but he still has his wheels and that experience will be invaluable if this squad wants to pretend about accomplishing anything. Cannon can play RB and RCB, which will come into play in a minute. Scally is young and hasn't gotten a ton of looks, but CAN play LB if necessary, though I think it's obvious that Dest will serve as backup LB. Shaq Moore can't provide any service on the left side and Sam Vines just broke his leg, so the only other LB being considered is out of commission.
Center backs (4):
Walker Zimmerman
Aaron Long
GOAT CCV
Mark McKenzie
Zimmerman is the only locked on starter, as the Miles Robinson injury hits hard. Long is not good and did not look capable in his last callup, but GGG loves his MLS scrubs. Tottenham legend Cameron Carter-Vickers is a solid CB, but has spent years on the outskirts looking in to the USMNT until his permanent move to Celtic. The final spot should be for Chris Richards, but he's apparently still injured as all **** and I'll be surprised if he gets chosen. McKenzie is bad but he at least played during the last callup, unlike Erik Palmer-Brown. Tim Ream is left-footed, would add a veteran presence, and captain's a **** Premier League squad, but won't get a look because he' too slow. I hate only taking four CBs, so that's where Cannon factors in.
This position needs to massively improve for 2026. Zimmerman and CCV are capable enough, but none of the US options (maybe Richards) are good enough with the ball for GGG's stupid system.
Midfield (6):
Tyler Adams
Kellyn Acosta
Weston McKennie
Yunus Musah
Malik Tillman
Cristian Roldan
Starting three is obvious, though McKennie keeps battling injuries. Acosta is locked on as the backup to Adams. Tillman is young and might never play, but has position flexibility. Luca de la Torre is nice as a backup to Musah and McKennie, but his injury timeline is right to the start of the World Cup and I doubt he gets selected. His injury opens up a spot for one of GGG's favorite MLS scrubs.
Wings (5):
Christin Pulisic
Gio Reyna
Brenden Aaronson
Tim Weah
Paul Arriola
The wing set up with this squad is always weird as I feel Reyna and Aaronson are better as attacking mids, but Weah and Pulisic are better on the outside. Pretty easy bunch to select, but who starts will be interesting. Pulisic is the most talented player, but does not handle physical play well at all. Weah is probably the second most talented of the bunch, but Aaronson has a tireless engine and I could see him getting preference. Reyna and Weah are always injured, so hopefully the manager to stay healthy until mid-December. Paulie Nips is an MLS scrub that I actually like, as he knows his talented level is low but the man works his tits off.
Striker (3):
Jesus Ferreira
Ricardo Pepi
Josh Sargent
Went from having no in-form strikers to too many. Ferreira was a dominant force in the MLS but always seems to have troubles finishing with the national team. He's speed as a CF is a problem for other teams though. Sargent has had a return to form with Norwich this season and absolutely works his ass off. Pepi's move to the Eredivise and away from a terrible Augsburg team has completely rejuvenated him. Very interested to see who the minutes go to.
Pefok was in-form during the last international break and didn't get the call over Pepi. No way he gets selected now that Pepi is in-form and he's completely out of form. Haji Wright has been great in Turkey this season, but I don't think it's enough to displace Pepi or Sargent.
I look forward to Berhalter getting fired after we finish last in the group.

Players were apparently informed today and leaks have started. CBS are Zimmerman, Long, CCV, and Ream in a complete shocker. Scally and Tillman making the team as well.

That's the most EA thing I've ever seen. The bracket is screwed up. Group winner and runner up go to opposite sides of the bracket. USA and England can't be on the same side. Brazil and Argentina winning their groups would put them on the same side of the bracket and result in them playing in the semis. Etc etc. The entire thing is wrong.

Rumor mill churning. Apparently Steffen isn't on the roster. Was told that Turner would be the starter and he didn't take it well, so he's being left out.
