I didn't get my camera open in time, but I came downstairs to a really young hawk catching a squirrel in my yard yesterday. The squirrel was almost as big as he was.

Well, the Google machine says that's a Goldcrest, and they are found across Europe, so it comes from the right part of the world.
Also, Wikipedia says of the Goldcrest, "in winter it is often found with flocks of tits." Heh.

I saw 2 fights at the county fair last night. The theme of the night was thin blue line based on everyone's attire. Funny seeing the police arrest these people. It was a terrific time.Well that was anti-climatic. I was hoping for some fisticuffs

Saw my first spotted lanternflies today. Pretty little nuisances. Tried to squish em but they are quick little planthoppers and I wasn’t going to dance all over the parking lot.
