The Pirates, are confounding, as ever.
Get a good start (again!) from Jose Quintana, who goes 6 innings of 2 hit ball against the Dodgers. 100+ pitches.
The problem is the Dodgers pitcher goes the same length but with about 70 pitches. The Pirates manage 10 hits off of him, but only 1 run. They are getting extra base hits, but with so many dead spots in the lineup, they can’t score any runs…and let the Dodgers starter off the hook and keep his pitch count low. Frustrating.

Yeah, weird game for me to dodint about. They did win, but can’t really string together a ton of hits to score runs.

On the T on the way to the game tonight. Two other dudes on the T are having and earnest, thoughtful
conversation about this crap team. I love it.

I'm behind in the game but nice throw from Betts to throw out Gamel in the top of the first.

10 extra base hits for the dodgers. Plus 3 walks and 5 singles.
Somehow the pirates left more guys in base than the dodgers despite a fraction of the base runners
Such is life.

The minors has felt rough this year. And high profile poor performers. But I noticed a lot of the guys with average performances so far are pretty young for their levels. So I'm less disappointed than I expected I guess. So many strikeouts though. Players with an A rating are performing at a level that could encourage immediate promotion:
Davis -- A+
Peguero -- A+
Mitchell -- A
Suwinski -- A
l. sanchez -- A
gorski -- A (old for level)
e. rodriguez -- B
bae -- B
martin -- B
lopez -- B
scott -- B
head -- B
njigba -- B
castro -- B
sabol -- B
triolo -- C
swaggerty -- D
cruz -- D
n. gonzales -- D
siani -- D
frazier -- F

yeah i had guys like cruz and swaggerty under the "wet farts" category but then i decided to be more professional. All the Ds could be easy Fs except Siani but I barely rate him anyway.

This guy has become worth a mention. 44 hits in 104ab. 12 doubles, triple, 6HR, 11bb/18k. 423/500/731/1.231
Second Round Pick (Giants) 3B, R/R, 6'3 190lb Jacob Gonzalez. Did most of that damage in A ball at 23y/o. Moved up to A+ the other day and has started 9-15 600/647/1.200/1.847
He'll be 24 next month. Get up to AA for a successful 80ab this year and he'll be rising like Fraizer did last year.
