COVID-19
A fun journey I went on today was searching various misspellings of 'omicron' on twitter

Yup, saw a Facebook post today about that. FJB scattered throughout the comments.I liked the Boycott Carhart movement. "Do you even know who your customers are!" was my favorite.
Even coveralls are now a politically motivated purchase.
Wasn't someone mentioning the other day about a house that had a sign advertising that they need a new kidney, next to Trump flags etc?
There is a house on Route 30 near me that has a sign out front seeking a kidney donor, and they have a bunch of FJB/LGB stuff too. Weird coincidence.
Correlation or causation?

The number of people/organizations that are canceling things now kind of boggle my mind. Like 2 weeks ago or a month ago you knew this wave was coming. But you wait until things start going down to cancel? It’s just weird.

Our office went back down to 25% capacity this week and masks on at all times unless eating, meetings all virtual again etc.
I haven't gone in recently but I believe it was at 50% capacity up until this week.

You have to reserve your spot before you go in. Once max for the day is reached the online tool won't let you reserve a spot. How are capacity limits even policed in those situations?
Now no clue how it's handled if you still show up and you didn't reserve and limit is reached.
You need to swipe like 4 different places just to get to our floor...so assuming your badge just would not work in that case but who knows.

Our daily (county) case count is down around 20% since last weekend. Still crazy high (32k), but that's an encouraging trend.
And through it all, hospitalizations for fully vaxxed remained pretty much flat. Yay, science!

Learned a funny thing today. So the USPS is having trouble confirming people's addresses at apartment complexes and multiple recipient locations because their form can't validate an address line 2... So when you register for your kit if you live in an apartment complex or somewhere similar it struggles.People will have lots of extra time to play with their new test kits and N95s

I have no idea how any of this works. Family (myself included) all started showing symptoms on Jan 8. Everyone tested positive and is technically out of quarantine back to school yesterday feeling good. I feel ok except for bad sinus pressure. Was planning on heading out East this weekend so got a test today and still positive. How does that work with being around my family now that they are all done and I'm technically positive? Am I ok being around them since they just had it?

My brother in law/sister and law and all of my nieces/nephews tested positive yesterday. They were vaccinated (not sure if boosted), but had waited to get their kids vaccinated for some reason. They were actually supposed to get the kids first jabs yesterday, but now they are all down for the count.
We were at a party with all of them last Saturday but had not seen them since...they just started getting symptoms yesterday...so hopefully we are in the clear.

https://www.today.com/health/health/sti ... -rcna12099The CDC also amended its guidelines to add that, if you have access to a rapid antigen test, you can take the test at the end of day five of your isolation (as long as you've been fever-free for at least 24 hours). If it's negative, you can use that result to feel more confident about leaving isolation at that time. But if it's positive, the CDC says you should continue isolating through day 10.
