The PCR test can pick up on covid at least 6 weeks post infection. Not sure about flu. Probably not that far out because little c2i tested positive for flu in early december and then negative for it early this month.
Like you said, probably not both at the same time. It was probably one followed by the other. Still sucks. Hope everyone feels better soon.

He got the rapid test so there's some overlap, but I think it's one of those things where the worse of the two is whats causing most of the issues

There's a rapid test for flu and covid? I was unaware of that... or was it a rapid test for covid and a rapid test for flu seperately?

My son had flu before Christmas and was tested separately for 'rona (negative) and flu (positive). He has a high tolerance for discomfort (he's the one with fibrous dysplasia, and breaks his foot all the time, including playing soccer for three weeks on it broken ) but his ass was knocked out for 4 full days. Like he couldn't even look at his phone or play video games for most of that time.
Hope Prince rebounds quickly.

Amazing way to measure a teenager's productivity. Like he couldn't even look at his phone or play video games for most of that time.

I don't remember, what age do they start doling out flu vaccines? Hope PC continues to brush it off like a champ.
What have you guys been doing to manage COVID once its in the house?
Originally since we're all vaxxed and the adults are boosted we went all "eff it, we're going to get it anyways" and basically did nothing different. Then we started adding up how many possible 5 day quarantine's back to back we could suffer and realized we could be stuck here for a month (and we're supposed to fly to Florida in a week).
So masking, separate bathrooms, and separate sleeping arrangements for anybody positive (the girls share a room typically).

Didn't Biden set up a Covid task force team prior to even taking office? The first idea from any Covid task force has to be "hey, why don't we distribute free masks and tests?' Somehow it took a year and some months to make that happen?

Yep, this all should have happened before cold/flu season cranked up in November. And the boosters approved for older kids before Christmas, to get them boosted plus two weeks in time for school to start back up after the New Year. I know the approval process is not something the Biden Administration can control, but still.

Omicron Is in Retreat

Who wants to tell him that school activities haven't been stopped, offices have already reopened, masks came off when the CDC said they should, and asymptomatic vaccinated people don't have to quarantine due to exposure? Other than that, it's an optimistic outlook on what's currently happening with Omicron. This combination [declining cases, lower risks, booster effectiveness] means that the U.S. may be only a few weeks away from the most encouraging Covid situation since early last summer, before the Delta variant emerged.
...
When should schools resume all activities? When should offices reopen? When should masks come off? When should asymptomatic people stop interrupting their lives because of a Covid exposure?
