Wife’s school just went remote for next week due to over 50% of the students being out with Covid. Good time with shad’s winter hell on the way.

They’re in Covid protocol. I’m not sure how many are confirmed positive and how many have a positive within their household. Most are not vaccinated so they would have to quarantine. I worded that incorrectly the previous post. By going full remote, it allows the students to have their same teachers in a remote learning environment. Otherwise they were just given busy work.

what specifically has he said

Theres a tweet video in the PDT, but essentially he was saying the risk of myocarditis was higher for those who got vaccinated. His guest told him that was completely untrue. He pushed back and said "no I read it somewhere". Guest told him to look it up. Turns out myocarditis is about 8x more likely when catching COVID than it is from the vaccine. Joe proceeded to then try and argue against that scientific study by saying something to the effect of "well that wasn't what I read, where did they come up with that".

It's just self-serving idiocy.
So I didn't watch it, but aren't both of those statements true?

Joe's point - Vaxxed vs. Unvaxxed...Vaxxed has a slightly higher risk of myocarditis... regardless of whether they catch COVID.

Guest's point - Infected vs. Uninfected... Infected 8x more risk of myocarditis. Vax reduces risk of infection, so.....

Guest's point is much better as far as an overall risk assessment. Joe's point is only more valid to someone who could guarantee they wouldn't get COVID.

So, Joe's point isn't really misinformation... it's just not comprehensive in it's scope. It's also hilarious that he knew so little about his point that he couldn't counter with a simple 'I'm referencing the vax only, your referencing the virus and infection'. It wouldn't be an effective counter, but it would be true.

As KC pointed out… 43 (or was it 46?) out of a million cases on its own is not a reason to advocate not getting the vaccine, so when you then go on to not even care to acknowledge the way higher risk from getting the disease, it’s quite clear where Rogan is on the discussion. I don’t think that clip needs any further analysis than “Rogan was wrong and doesn’t know what he’s taking about.”

Myocarditis is quite treatable and once it was identified as a potential side-effect, people were on the look out for it - making it even more treatable because warning signs were identified. It being used as an anti-vaxx argument is beyond dumb

Btw… if Rogan was really concerned about myocarditis for young men, it’s pretty simple: the lowest rates of myocarditis is in the Pfizer vaccine. I think he posted a figure from a study that looked at myocarditis and the figure shows rates are Pfizer>infection>moderna. Now ignoring the fact that the infected group is not strictly unvaccinated, some set of them were, if he truly wanted to discuss it, it’s not vaccination vs not getting vaccination, the discussion he should be having is moderna vs Pfizer.

The more important point is that the myocarditis risk of vaccine vs covid is effectively zero vs effectively zero. Sad state of affairs that someone sounds an effectively zero siren and it has to even be debated.
