Like morkle said, taking him off the air will only reinforce what they already think... he's out there spitting the truth and the powers that be must silence him. Unfortunately, I have zero idea how to combat it. You can show exactly how he's wrong on so many things with peer reviewed, data-based science, and the 11 million people are still not going to be convinced.
Although the coalition is not asking for Spotify to cancel “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the group is pushing for the company to do more to prevent further misinformation from spreading on what is considered the nation’s most popular podcast.

A coalition of hundreds of doctors and public health experts have called out Spotify for allowing Joe Rogan to spread “false and societally harmful assertions” about coronavirus and vaccination on the streaming platform that hosts his wildly popular podcast.

In an open letter published Monday, more than 270 medical professionals urge Spotify to stop “enabling its hosted media to damage public trust in scientific research and sow doubt in the credibility of data-driven guidance.” Rogan, whose show reaches an estimated audience of 11 million people an episode, has repeatedly downplayed the need for coronavirus vaccines and used his platform to flirt with misinformation about covid-19.

There's no "taking him off the air." Even if he gets ousted from Spotify, he'll just go back to what he was doing before. Actually, his fans would probably be happy. The move to Spotify wasn't very popular.

I certainly think anything medical should have a disclaimer whether federally mandated or company mandated and that goes for anything. Anything discussed medically should have a "This episode discusses medical topics or advice, please consult with your doctor before doing anything."

Won't change anything, but should certainly be discussed.

11 million people an episode is **** insane.
Mrs Tif was like "It's a fun show and all, but how does 'Hot Ones' get all these A-listers?" And I said "Each episode gets more uniques than Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert, and Meyers combined." There are some episodes that have over 30 million views.

If you take medical advice from Joe Rogan, you get what you deserve and nobody should feel bad for you.

what specifically has he said

Theres a tweet video in the PDT, but essentially he was saying the risk of myocarditis was higher for those who got vaccinated. His guest told him that was completely untrue. He pushed back and said "no I read it somewhere". Guest told him to look it up. Turns out myocarditis is about 8x more likely when catching COVID than it is from the vaccine. Joe proceeded to then try and argue against that scientific study by saying something to the effect of "well that wasn't what I read, where did they come up with that".

It's just self-serving idiocy.

Damnit now my older son's classroom is closed thru next Wednesday and he woke up with a fever. I thought he already had this. Also strangely he keeps insisting he doesn't feel sick at all despite being 102

My wife's school has 159 out of 630 students out of school today.

The superintendent did a photo op at another school, working in the cafeteria because they have so many people out.

This is fine.

:fist: Same. It's coming though. My wife has 80 kids out for covid out of 200 in the school. She had a kid removed from her classroom yesterday with a fever and he tested positive before his mom even got to the school. It just ran through the SIL's house with all four of them getting it but thankfully all mild.

Yeah, when they called it sounded dire but I wouldn't have thought it would have been less than an hour. He'd been sick since around Christmas and delayed going to get care. Sad... I had only met him a few times but I know my brother in law was very close with him, closer than any other sibling.

Got my positive test today after negative on Monday. Today is also the first day being symptom free, probably due to all the whiskey and edibles I consumed this week (and being fully vaxxed)

Study came out last week that cannabis inhibits COVID

Ha that's interesting. Not that my symptoms were terrible this week, but edibles were amazing in the relief dept

I’d rather talk about Joe Rogan than meow’s “DNA”
