Beating the number 8 and 14 teams in the country is a solid week for RMU. Suck it UPS. I wonder about the future of the Three Rivers Classic. Looks like attendance was in the range of 6,000, which is a far cry from the 11,000+ during the first year of the tournament. The Penguins make everyone hate hockey.

Apparently BC and Cornell were ranked No. 4 and 9, respectively.

Possibly the biggest wins in recent program history for OSU.

Penn State hangs tight at #14.

RMU stays in others receiving votes after tanking in the Ledyard Bank Classic vs. Dartmouth and Union.

Friars down to 3 after losing to Cornell and Brown but beating BC

Ivy League made some noise this week.

Woof. Absolutely spanked by Minnesota tonight 7-1. Was probably the worst I've ever seen PSU play. Very very ugly.

Another ugly loss to a lousy Ohio State squad. Who can we fire?

Was there yesterday... was a really weird game. The entire first and third period, OSU just out worked PSU and looked way faster, which is typically the style PSU plays. They play hard and fast and it just wasn't there. They did well to fight back from being down 3-0 to go up 4-3, but then two quick goals from OSU sort of deflated the team and it was done from there. They looked slow and unwilling to work in the corners. The only person that seemed remotely interested was Sturtz. He's gonna be good these next 3 years for them.

PSU is tied for 17th in the pairwise which ain't going to get it done.

#14 in the USCHO poll though.

Think if they are going to get in at large they need to at least split with Michigan next weekend and make a little run in the B1G tournament.

Agreed. They're right on the cusp, but they're going to need to make a run in the B1G tourney to have a shot. This years seniors are the first ones to play 4 years in D-1 hockey, so it's exciting to see the team at least be in the running to grabbing a spot.

Woof... absolutely spanked last night. Probably a year or two away from being a tourney team, unless they win today and make a deep run in the B1G tourney. They're getting better every year though, so it's an encouraging sign.

Yeah, win the tourney is the only way to get in now. They do not match up well with Michigan or OSU it seems, Minnesota seems to have gone better.

Meh, who knows but I'm not optimistic.

I'm hoping Michigan wins the whole thing. They've destroyed PSU every game this season.

Is there anywhere that does an NCAA Hockey Frozen Four bracket? Would there be any interest in doing this if there is one?

No repeat for the Friars. Went to 2OT in the Hockey East Semis and 1st round of tourney, but could only score once in each game. Not a winning recipe.

ND's second goal of the game against Quinnipiac was a fun one. I'll see if I can find a gif in a bit.
