43 goals and 21 assists is weird to see.

For having 2 cups, the Flyers sure have a lot of banners in their arena... perhaps they can add a "Tied the President Trophy Champs 2016" banner

Flyer fans chanting "Holtby" in a 1-1 game.

Guy might break the record for wins in a season (with OT and SO I know I know), but that's pure fan stupidity, common among the ranks of one of the stupidest fan bases in this league.
Are you kidding? They're the most passionate, knowledgeable fans in the league. Honorary Original Six and all that.

Just ask them. They'll tell you. Gag.

So the jagoffs get a point. Right now the Flyers are the luckiest team in the league.

I saw a thread somewhere, probably HF (explains a lot), where the concept was floated. But I've actually heard it once or twice from Flyers fans.

It's the attitude they have, however. No question, imo.

I'm of the opinion that the Flyers wouldn't beat the Caps over 7 games.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Nice work, Holtby.

Seems possible a first round series with the Flyers will not be an easy one if you're a Caps fan.

Someone here is always drumming the Quick is overrated drum. Who is that? Show yourself!
I always got tired of how many people were quick (no pun intended) to put him in lists with some of the greats of all time. For me he is always in that tier right behind the best in the league. So like 4th or 5th. Though to be quite honest I haven't been paying much attention to goalies around the league this year like I usually do, so my opinion is possibly outdated and in need of possible revision.

Not that I'm taking issue with what was said in any way, I'm just thinking out loud for the sake of thinking...but last night at around 9:30 Eastern, the standings looked like this...

Philadelphia 87 (75 GP)
Detroit 87 (77 GP)
...
Ottawa 79 (77 GP)

And Sportsnet and NBCSN had Ottawa has still technically in contention. Philadelphia and Detroit would both own a tiebreaker over Ottawa. So Ottawa would need to clear them by one point each. Ottawa has five games left, ten points on the table. Philadelphia plays Detroit still, one of those teams has to get two points in that game. Ottawa was eliminated coming into play last night, right? Between the two of them, absolute worst case scenario, one of them has to get two points. That bars Ottawa from the postseason. Unless I'm wrong in my thinking, I'm surprised that no one says these things. It's one thing with a 10 game schedule left, but we got five and six games to go, it's not hard to see...

Im sure they just looked at available points wihout considering scheduled games like i did. Acceptable for me when i just quickly checked the headline. Lazy journalism though.

Yeah, which I totally get. But when they really stressed on the lead up to Ottawa/Winnipeg on Sportsnet last night that Ottawa was still technically alive. Which really skews the definition of technically...

If you're a Caps fan a first round series with anyone should make you nervous.

Two of the best hits of the season the last couple nights...Dustin Byfuglien on Mark Stone and tonight Tom Wilson on Nikita Zadorov...
