That's a good idea, but the NHL would probably screw it up by attempting to show you the local blacked out game.It should just switch over to another out of market game, overlay "Live Look-in" in the corner, and call it a day.

My gripe this year is the season pass option for the Penguins picks up the other team's local broadcast every single damn time. About the only time I get ROOT is when I go in and tell it to record 659. Other feed is better than nothing getting home late, but it's getting old.

I thought the same thing..."you......want...? the Pens feed...?"

Kidding aside, the Pens crew is probably 28/31 in the league, I'm giving the Vegas crew benefit of the doubt for right now.

I had this exact same issue. I just set it to record manually now if I think I'm going to be late. total 1st World problem.

You'll have to do some pruning, but if you delete the season pass but do a keyword search for "PENGUINS" it will grab both feeds, and everything else Penguins related. Sometimes Animal Planet stuff, even.

I'm assuming this is DirecTV? My Penguins season pass records every feed, even though I'm not subscribed to their channels. I'll always have two feeds on my DVR. Sometimes three if NHL Network is simulcasting. My gripe this year is the season pass option for the Penguins picks up the other team's local broadcast every single damn time. a Roku and the NHL.tv subscription. So, so much better than Center Ice. Can't record the games but if I am out, I can check in on them with the phone app.

Couldn't you just hide scores and start the game from the beginning when you get home?a Roku and the NHL.tv subscription. So, so much better than Center Ice. Can't record the games but if I am out, I can check in on them with the phone app.

This is what I do... Since the Tampa game has been moved to 4 (or is it 5?) pm on Sunday, yinz might have to manually record the game. From my experience with Center Ice, I wouldn't count on them updating their info with the cable providers.I'm assuming this is DirecTV? Yup. Only time I actually get ROOT seems to be when I manually record it or the other team doesn't have a feed. Already have Pregame and Postgame as their own season pass items, so I at least still get that. And it is smart enough to switch feeds when blacked out on ROOT (such as when NHLN or NBCSN has the game also).I'm assuming this is DirecTV? With the off week and all I guess I'll delete the season pass and set it up anew and see if that helps any. And even the present state is better than nothing if I forget to set Root.

It bugs me that it keeps the stub of the other networks though. For each Pens game I get three recordings, a full 3hr recording and two 1 minute blank recording on other channels.Source of the post And it is smart enough to switch feeds when blacked out on ROOT

Time to re-up with NHL.TV, but needed to use a new card.
In Firefox, their interface wouldn't let me do it; had to use IE (here at work).
Genius.

Firefox has gone to sh*t the last few months. I was trying to watch/listen to the NHL China game and Tour Championship last week and couldn't see the picture unless I expanded the window to full screen. I've also had to stop using it for my webmail because it doesn't allow me to reply.Time to re-up with NHL.TV, but needed to use a new card.

I dumped Firefox about two years ago when it decided to try and be exactly like Chrome. So I jumped to Chrome instead.

I've got NBC sports, and I was thinking about just getting the sports package for $5 a month anyways that would get me NHL Network.
I technically live "in market" for the Pens, is that an issue?
