Adult League Workout

Postby Jofa Guy » Mon Sep 14, 2015 8:47 pm

This may not belong here, however I'm trying to get in shape specifically for hockey.

I played high school hockey and was in pretty good shape. However, years of drinking eligibility and transitioning from a sh***ty restaurant job to a ******* cubicle job has had me gain a few pounds. I"m 24 about 6 ft and 200 without having too much muscle.

I used to be a really fast skater, and had a good shot however my muscle in my legs and arms has obviously decreased since highschool. I do feel that I have a MUCH better understanding of the game (positioning, reading lanes, and not trying to go coast to coast because I can't do that anymore) due to watching so many nhl games.

Besides diet and cutting back on my bad habits, which are more than I'd like them to be, what do you feel would be most beneficial to keep my breath in adult league? I was thinking running sprints, quitting smoking, and less beer. I think sprints and core workouts would be most beneficial for hockey

Hahahahahhahahah. I wanted to make a comment I thought would be funny, but I also don't want to offend the easily offend-able 2015 population

Note: not a personal trainer...at all.

Sprints on an incline would be beneficial. Squats/deadlifts are good for everything, in and out of hockey. Combo exercises of the like. I'd also recommend a lot of plyometric stuff, that stuff burns fat pretty well and builds a lot of core/stabilizing muscles...pushing **** is seriously underrated in terms of exercising...find something heavy and just push it around for a while...

the sprints are a great recommendation. cardio is important and cardio with interval training is even better. don't forget to add muscle too. if you've got access to a gym &/or weights I recommend the Stronglifts 5x5 program: http://stronglifts.com/5x5/
they have an app too (of course) that makes it easy to track your workout in the gym.

I believe the adult league workout involves playijg a game, drinking beer, going home.

I'll do you a favor.

If you're serious, and you want to feel and perform better.

Start eating like this: http://www.gnolls.org/1141/eat-like-a-p ... nal-guide/

Front squat and Deadlift

But before you do that, fix your mobility

Fix your mobility:
http://www.crossfitinvictus.com/blog/im ... -mobility/
http://breakingmuscle.com/mobility-reco ... ease-injur

Hips - https://gmb.io/hip-flexibility/

Start doing dips, but make sure you don't **** up your thoracic extension and mobility by developing an anterior rotation to your shoulders

That'll be 300$ please.

I'll pm you my paypal
