Gallant Knights. Of course.
:face: LOL

Joke aside, I think it's a good pick.
Very good pick. FLA was very unwise firing him.

Vegas should build their rink with International sized ice. I would watch more of their games if they did.

Discuss.

I actually would have no problem with that. Not because I support international sized rinks - it just adds more area to the rink that you can't score from - but just for it to be different. Maybe will create tactical mismatches/roster building differences...old Boston Garden and Chicago Stadium were not played on 200 x 85 ice back in the day...Boston could get away with having subpar skaters on defense throughout much of the 1950's and 1960's...in fact, that trend continued through much of the 70's as well, with one minor exception...

Yeah, I would be interested to see what kind of 'unintended consequences' would arise from it.

I'm also surprised that someone that advocates for ways to slow the game down isn't particularly for the larger ice surface.

I don't believe that the larger ice surface would slow the game down in the right way...it would push it to the margins...rolling a gutter ball really fast down the lane is just a speedy gutter ball...trickles down to the development levels, players can get by on less hand skills and more wide-speed...the league fills with Rico Fata wannabes - too-fast, skill-less game...not a good recipe...

I would certainly entertain the idea of varied home rinks - to a degree - not unlike baseball...KHL has three non-international rinks I believe themselves...

If ever there was a time to try it, it'd be right here, right now...

I took the expanded ice as a way to slow the game purely from a stamina standpoint. At least that's how it worked the few times I played on one. ;)

Which is probably the grounds the NHLPA would oppose it, come to think.

Yes, the rulebook prescribes the exact dimension of the rink and the arc of the corners...

It's shocking to me that a guy would give up 5 mil/year for 4 years so he can join an expansion team.

Maybe he wants to try out the NHL...you're never gonna get a better shot than an expansion club...I bet he has some friends along for the ride too...

Same way as any other. They made an agreement with Chicago Wolves...

It looks like the Blues had planned on forming a new AHL team in Kansas City to use as their AHL affiliate at the conclusion of their 3 year agreement with the Wolves. Las Vegas reached an affiliate deal with the Wolves, the Blues' Kansas City team fell apart, and now they're left sharing the Wolves with Vegas as a seemingly short-term unofficial affiliate, which is a shitty deal for everyone involved. The Wolves are independently owned and care more about winning AHL Championships than developing prospects, so now two teams get to send their prospects to an organization that doesn't care about them.

Also, some team movement in the AHL this year. Binghamton Senators are moving to Belleville, Ontario; Albany Devils are moving to Binghamton; St. John's IceCaps are moving to Laval as the Laval Rocket.

Either Fleury is homesick, or the Golden Knights haven't purchased practice jerseys.

**** them, their logo, and their glitter-bombed accented jerseys. Except for Fleury, we're still cool.
