The article said the owner initially wanted Black Knights. Army/West Point said no. Then he wanted Knights, and London of the OHL said no.
If he really did settle on Desert Knights...ugh.
On a side note, the Oakland Raiders now own the rights to the name "Las Vegas Raiders".

Scorpions would be an appropriate name for a team in Vegas. I think you could work up a cool logo for that.
