Go full corporate and try and make as much as you can off the team...goofballs already walk around in soccer shirts that have no discernible tie to the team, they just walk around advertising for Samsung or Matsumura Fishworks...why not the Las Vegas Capri Suns or Pepsi Presents Las Vegas HC? The less you have to worry about gate sales, the better off you are...you're not gonna get good TV money, you're not liable to get a lot of walk-up unless the team is winning post-honeymoon...

Half serious, but better than "Sand Knights" or "Knight Suns" or whatever else is bandied about...

For years, I couldn't put my finger on what irritated me about sports team names. It hit me today, finally. Two word names. Blue Jackets. Super Sonics. Red Sox. Blue Jays. Maple Leafs.

I don't like them. People drop one of the names anyway. Jackets. Sawx. Jays.
