not sure how I feel about this. I guess this is a good thing since MLB has more resources and such, but they can screw things up too. The MLB app is the worst of the major 4 US sports apps.

I hope this doesn't mean the NHL is going to start charging for the online radio feed like MLB does.

So long NHL content on YouTube I guess...which only hurts the game, as the NHL is so poor about getting its best out there...

Everything I've read suggests this is a good thing for the NHL. First off, MLB.tv is fantastic and could really help the NHL up it's game with NHL GameCenter. Also I believe this money could be considered hockey related income which would potentially help raise the cap. MLBAM has a lot of good things going and I think that they are primarily helping to bring the NHL up to par with their streaming and statistics and won't suddenly be running all digital media for the league.

Apparently, this will boost the salary cap by 2.5 million.

This is great. MLB Advanced Media is really the best. The At Bat is tops and mlb.tv is fantastic. Oh and the NHL is getting 1.2B out of this. The NHL Network HQ are getting moved to share a building with MLB Network.. If anyone has watched both networks, you'd agree it's a major step up from their current studio. Win-win all around

that seems dumb though. The NHL needs to grow its fanbase, not keep it down. If they charge people for listening to games on their radio, less people are going to do it.

If this gets gamecenter on par with MLB.tv, this is going to be awesome.

I feel like hockey ratings on the radio aren't exactly sky high to begin with.
