NHL played with 21 teams from 1979-1991, many people believe this to be a top era for hockey...

Seattle would be a good get for the NHL, if they can beat the NBA back to there and keep them out, all the better...

I said it earlier in this thread, but Seattle would embrace the ever-loving hell out of hockey. It's a great sports town.

I'd rather the Knights just fail in Vegas and move to Seattle, not the investors.

KeyArena was built in 1962. That's going to be a tough sell.

KeyArena was built in 1962. That's going to be a tough sell.
OVG would spend $564 million to upgrade the facility, originally built as part of the 1962 World’s Fair and renovated in 1995.
You could get a lot of upgrade for that money. How old is the MSG and how much did it cost to renovate a few years ago?

So about the arena here:
Tuesday’s news conference was canceled after new sexual-abuse allegations against Mayor Ed Murray. More updates to come.

Should a Seattle team revive the "Metropolitans" name? It does have historical pull, considering the Seattle Metropolitans were the first US-based team to win the Cup in 1917, but it might be awkward given the name of the Metropolitan Division.

I'm hoping that this is a dog whistle for moving the Coyotes to Seattle.

That would be as bad as the Wild, so i hope not.

The Seattle ownership group has received expansion paperwork from the NHL. Now it's up to the Seattle group to formally apply. Haven't yet

On the outside track, here comes Ottawa...
That would indicate a severe ownership problem, but we already knew that’s in effect.
