All three of those jerseys are hideous.

The left one is a reference to the old Mets jerseys...I like that.

Seattle Kraken

Here's the first correct guess, @ad@m you win a hat, tell me what color.
That is either Ottawa or Detroit strip Jersey, and a rounded version of Dallas' old jerseys

I'm sure in a couple years they'll come out with a kraken animal logo and sell a boat load of Alternate jerseys.

I do think that the "S" logo is more looking like it should be a shoulder patch or media type logo.. I get the throwback to some of their old logo design from way back but its kinda meh..

I just hated the colors. I wish they had used a more blue/green vs just straight blue. I wish the NHL would just increase variety in colors, but the logos and name are pretty sweet.

There isn't a lot of green in the league, I agree...

My first thought was the Messier era Canucks jerseys. And the fact that Vancouver is right across the border there, just didn't strike me. The good thing is that the design is easy to make in NHL 20 create a team...

What's a better name? Metropolitans? Boring af. Emeralds? Meh. Sockeyes? Super lame. Maybe they could've gone the Redskins route and just been the "Seattle Hockey Team."

Kraken is a badass name.

I like PTI, but venerated hockey scholars they are not. Pretty surprised they even noticed, honestly.

Kraken? NHL Seattle’s team name is bold and distinctive, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it

https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/hoc ... o-like-it/
Give Leiweke and company credit for one thing: They went big. They went bold. They didn’t take the safe route, which would have been the Steelheads, Sockeyes or Metropolitans. They had the audacity to go with a polarizing name that will inspire great praise from the undeniably large and vocal group of fans who advocated for it — hard — from the beginning.

But it will also inspire great scorn from those who feel like it’s a gimmick akin to naming your minor-league baseball team the Yard Goats, Rumble Ponies or Iron Pigs.

And who point out that, inevitably, the team’s fans will be referred to as the “Krak Heads” and the new arena will be dubbed “The Krak House.” That’s an irresistible force that won’t have an immovable object to stop it.

Source of the post Steelheads, Sockeyes or Metropolitans.
Those names **** suck. This ain't the 1910s. Just wait until we finally get an NHL team called the Sasquatch. What a rivalry.

This probably has more to do with population size than approval of the branding, but I thought this was cool.

Assuming the Erie Seawolves would have had a problem with that name.

Kraken is a great name. I also dig the S wordmark.

*edit* That's actually the primary logo. Info here: https://www.seattlekrakenhockey.com/

And if this isn't the official drink of the team, it'll be my official drink. This stuff is delicious.

RELEASE THE KAREN KRAKEN

Not sure what ties the PNW area has to Scandinavian culture to make the connection, but I was hoping for something a bit more like Orcas, (maybe let people use their ORCA mass transit cards to get discounted tickets or something), although I gather that wasn't even one of the finalists under consideration. And the secondary logo looks more like an anchor than a spear/trident. But overall, I like it a lot, especially the use of the singular (Avalanche, Wild, Lightning), and the unique color palette.
That's funny you mention the anchor because that's what I saw when I looked at it. Once you mentioned it, I had to look back to see that it was NOT an anchor.
