Yes, picked up right where they left off and it improves with each update. A must buy for any armchair GM. I"ve been playing the game for a decade now and still get enjoyment out of it.

I downloaded it a few weeks ago but today is the first day I've really played it. Haven't dove into scouting much yet. Have been playing with the even strength tactics but haven't dove much deeper than that.
The roster file I downloaded started at the beginning of last season.
Traded Scuderi to the Flames for Michael Ferland and Paul Byron.
Also traded Chris Kunitz and Jeff Zatkoff to the Blackhawks for Bryan Bickell and Brandon Saad then I turned around and dealt Bickell to the Canadiens for a 3rd and 4th round pick.
So, everything has been realistic so far.

Does p4l know about this game?

I tried to trade Paul Martin to Arizona for a 1st round pick. The trade was accepted, but Martin rejected the trade. dadhole.

Still not available on mobile, right? I think i had this game around the end of college. I wont play again till its on mobile.

That actually does seem realistic.
Is this for people who like fantasy, minus the possibility of social interaction?

I would think that this game would be a bit too in depth for a mobile platform.

I agree. Though I believe some have played it on a tablet...

Unless they added a ton since the version i played, a mobile from the last couple years would be fine with it.

I just got to April of season 1 and the Avalanche have fired Patrick Roy mid season. Hired Tony MacAulay and then fired him with a few weeks left in the season.

I wish we could set up a sim league here. I used to play in those FHL Sim leagues 10-15 years ago that were a lot of fun.

What is the best way to develop young players? AHL time? Practice?

Not really a "best" way, but in '07, it was about quality of competition and going the right way at the right time...
Track your players, make sure they are in the right situations to succeed. You get a guy stuck playing 4th line minutes for two seasons over in the SHL, well, maybe that's not the best. Then bring them into the AHL, have a coach that's good with youngsters, and have them in a situation to succeed there. If you drafted wingers top 10 in the previous few drafts but all your centers have been called up already or you don't have any, don't have those kids on a donut line, sign an AHL vet center so they can work with talent...
Then for practice, you're helping to mold the player to where he has to be a pro...sometimes that's kind of an "all over" proposition...sometimes a guy needs to improve his skating if he wants to be a player...but he already has the defensive skills that you covet...so you ride his skating harder, hit him with a lot of intense skating sessions, particularly in the offseason...
EHM07 didn't take kindly to 18 year olds playing in the league most of the time, so I would kind of have a slow burn with a lot of my guys...but I also found that in some cases I kind of stagnated them...because they were ready to go to the show and I used up that last year of waiver exemption instead of making room for a player that was ready...I seem to specifically recall doing that to Calle Jarnkrok in a recent game...and I ended up having to move on from him, but I made sure I put him in a place where he would get a fair shot to be an NHL player...
I haven't had as much experience with the new iteration of this game as I would like, but I have to imagine that the player development side of things can't have taken a complete 180 or even a 90 for that matter...

I don't know what I did, but Anton Zlobin turned into a stud for me in year 3 and 4.
