Yup, that's a minor. Nothing more. I can't remember the last time I saw a five and a game for slashing...

That might have been a match penalty though.

Yeah that was a match penalty. But I did forget about that...didn't Lemieux hack the hell of some Capital goon around that time as well...? I just can't remember his name...I think it was a really short name...

Ah, ya know what, maybe I'm thinking of that incident with Lemieux and Todd Krygier in game 4 of the ECQF vs. Washington...I thought he had hacked Krygier down, but really he just kind of jumped him and attempted to pummel him. Still though, I feel like there was an incident in the right wing boards and there was a camera right there in the glass...I don't know...I'm probably mixing a bunch of things up...I'll just go back to sleep...

Ben Bishop has given up 3 goals on 12 shots. More surprised Detroit has only managed 12 shots thus far.

Tampa has 31, but have only scored once.

Make that twice. Hoping they can tie it up here.

It didn't involve the Penguins so it's fair game.

They actually could have had 2 penalties on the play because the Wings ran a trainwreck of a change and I think had 7 guys on the ice.

I'm kind of glad the way the Game 1 scheduling went. Last night had a rooting interest in all those games and tonight when he pens played didn't really care about these other matchups so I didn't really have to switch back and forth.

Everything about the Anaheim atmosphere is weird. All the bright orange/burnt orange-out isn't even close to being one of their primary colors, the goal song is stupid, and the crowd sings it off key anyway.

Not vocious? Are you referring to the fact that you think he didnt swing hard? Subban slid his hand up the stick so he could get more mustard on his slash. To me this is why the NHL will always be a second tier league. They let defenders obstruct so that defenders dont get cremed, even though this is the essence of hockey. Yet they allow two hand slashes with no suspension. To me its unreal.

Every other professional league has made it easier on the offense in an effort to up the excitement level except the NHL. The NHL is controlled by a bunch of old dudes who think battling through holding/slashing/hooking makes hockey tough and a man's game. Post 04-05 lockout it seemed like we were actually focusing on talent, but now we've slipped back into garage league status.

I'll be in Detroit all next week for business, so a couple of us decided to buy tickets to Game 3 on Tuesday. I've never been to a playoff game where I'm not a fan of either team. I'll obviously be pulling for the Lightning. Should be interesting at least.

Sidenote: tickets were cheaper than any regular season game I've been to at Consol. #Hockeytown

It's because you can buy a house in Detriot for what it costs to sit on the glass in Pittsburgh.

I'd use a lot of words to describe that slash; vicious is definitely not one of them.

Ultimately we can argue about which adjective to use, but that is beyond the point. What Subban did whether you think vicious or not doesnt belong in the game and hurts the NHL's image.

It doesn't, I agree. Which is why he was removed from the game.
