In Washington state/British Columbia this week, we drove to Abbotsford, BC for AHL game at 2:00PM. Apparently in Canada it’s “Family Day” which is basically a made up holiday.

I won't be impressed until he leaves his prime, because other guys have been "interesting" through age 27...but just in case AM34 has Terminator-like longevity...

It's amazing that AO never really slowed down until this season. If anything, he slowed down for a short while in what was his prime.

Yeah, like his game is completely empty - but he can still throw a puck into the net whenever he wants...it's pretty wild. It's the longevity that makes him interesting...

Ovechkin gives the world like seven 50ish goal seasons from the age of 28 on...

Gretzky: 1
Brett Hull: 2
Lemieux: 2
Jagr: 2
Bobby Hull: 3
Esposito: 5 (mostly 60ish+, but had 1ish before the age of 27)

Iginla 1, Sakic 1...they're just hard to find. Ovechkin had 7. Can we really count on AM34 to get even half of those...? Gonna be tough...

Hell, look at Stamkos...

Thru age 28, Stamkos 393 goals in 746 GP - 43.2 goals per 82, but he started at 18, so he gets some bonus room there.

In his age 19 to 22 seasons, he was going 51.6 goals per 82.

But after his age 28 season...

145 goals in 312 GP - 38 goals per 82. Now, you have a 33 year old, who is 356 goals away the record. He needs 51 a year until the age of 40 to get there. He'll never get close. He probably won't get 700 even.
