Top 20 longest streak in history. 10th longest in a non-99, non-66 world.
That said, the NHL is...I don't know...weird isn't the word. But they don't seem to recognize consecutive streaks that span multiple seasons. Like, Gretzky's 51 game point streak was to start the 1983-84 season. He also pointed in the final 10 games of 1982-83. One could reason that it's 61 games, not 51...
I also wonder about Lemieux and injuries and what not...I've never looked into it. I just know the Gretzky one because it's easy.
The longest scoring streaks with Gretzky/Lemieux removed is Sundin at 30 games. He also scored in the final game of the 1992 season...so, maybe 31.

I'm not a fan of Jack Edwards by any means, but he doesn't sound well. I know there are people joking on twitter that he's been dipping into grandpa's cough syrup, but it sounds like something more than that.
