it looks like Tkachuk's hand was over Lemieux's mouth (obviously) but I've always wondered in these biting cases, was the hand over his nose as well? because if some dude's facewashing me and keeping me from breathing, I might bite his hand too.

It looked like Tkachuk was trying to push him off and then Lemieux bit him. You can see it when they're on the ground wrestling with the linesmen.
