I guess his complaint is that Kadri was changing for (someone?) who didnt come off, and then Kadri eventually changed for Mackinnon who still had a skate on the ice (and in the zone, even) when Kadri got the puck.

Kadri went 1 on 2 to beat the Lightning and scored a nasty goal really. Coop 'loves this league' and knows exactly how to play it for an advantage.

Having 6, 7, 10 players on the ice is NOT illegal. It's the involvement in the play. I'm not saying Coop is right or wrong...but the people that come in and go, "ummm ackhuctually, the non-possessing team has the same" and then pointing to a couple of guys standing in the spit and snot in front of their own bench are total knobs...

(if directed at me as one of the knobs) I'm merely staying the 6th player on the ice for Colorado has the same involvement as the 6&7th Bolts on the ice.

That's not how it works. MacKinnon is the one leaving the ice, he's the "extra" guy...Kadri comes on for him and receives the puck before MacKinnon is off. When your guy isn't off and you come on and get involved, that means six skaters are involved and it's too many men.

Tampa guys - not in possession and their substitutes are not involved in the play - are fine.

MacKinnon was within the margin for a change when Kadri received the pass.

This is why I would prefer a strict scrutiny rule for too many men.

yeah, come on when the other guy is off. easy. as is - too much judgement for refs that suck at using judgement

I like the current rule interpretation - which everyone knows exactly how it is called yet there is still shock and outrage in these situations - but I wouldn’t get too banged up if it was called more strictly.

I’m more for rule changes where there is too much gray area. Everyone knows how too many men is called
