As much as I hate the Cardinals, this is fun as sht. Watch party at Busch.

I'm sure this kind of thing happens often but it's amazing to me that Parayko is in the middle of experiencing the pinnacle of his professional career, and he takes the time to interact with her and have her be part of his celebration. Good stuff.

Well here's why the league decided to add sparklers to the Cup presentation:

Looks cool in a photo. Looked crazy lame live.

I thought it was cool live because it blocked out all the Bruins fans in the background. If you watch it, NBC framed it perfectly.

I just figured Boston requested them because they thought they'd win, and the NHL used them since they had em.

TV ratings...

St. Louis 41.8 (60 share!)
Boston 30.2 (48 share)
Providence 24.4
Buffalo 14
Kansas City 10.1

The 41.8 rating in St. Louis is the highest local rating since the big sleep (Boston 2011 SCF G7, Pittsburgh 2009 SCF G7). It's also higher than what that market delivered for the last Super Bowl.

It got a 6.2 nationally on NBC (a record for hockey in an "overnight" slot; Phi/Chi 2010 SCF G6 [tracked since '94]). The best Wednesday primetime overnight since Sep. 2018 (America's Got Talent finale).

Pretty good for how small of a market St. Louis is, how - I guess - burnt out Boston is from winning stuff and how it was not an overly competitive or interesting game after the 1st period...

To be fair, it's not hard to see why the St. Louis market wouldn't want to watch a LA Rams/Patriots Super Bowl.

It is. But there's no doubt there are still some fans of the team there...and...it's the freakin' Super Bowl in the United States...nothing comes close to that...

I appreciated the outcome, but yeah, that game was background noise to whatever I was doing on my phone. I don’t know if it’s possible to have a well-played entertaining game 7 in the finals.

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues hockey club on earning their first Stanley Cup championship.

The story behind that superfan girl is incredible. She had a bone marrow transplant in January, which in the best of circumstances is excruciatingly painful. Between that Parayko video and the Marchand gif, this is about the happiest I can feel about hockey if the Pens don't win.

Some guy put $400 down on the Blues to win the Cup in January. Walked away with $100,400.

Blues bettor
@ScottABerry1
had these offers for his $100,000 ticket ($400 bet at 250-1 odds) on
@PropSwap
.

Pre Gm 1: $41K
Pre Gm 2: $28K
Pre Gm 3: $48K
Pre Gm 5: $38.6K
Pre Gm 6: $75K
Pre Gm 7: $36.5K

He declined them all. And now he's got $100K in his pocket. Amazing.
I don’t think I could have turned down that game 6 offer.
