I don't know what it is, but I think Sullivan saw Kessel in Sprong and decided to take all of the frustrations of both players out on Sprong. If Sprong has a somewhat successful last 3/4s of the season, I'm totally content blaming Sullivan on this one.

He's taken plenty of shots from that spot this year and hasn't scored because it's an extremely low percentage shot that often missed the net completely and ended the rush.

Just because he managed to find the net (thanks in part to Corey Crawford's horrendous coverage) doesn't mean he's suddenly figured it out.

Remember, he had a two goal game against the Isles last year then did absolutely jack **** since.

He now has players with an offensive IQ higher than 3 to play with.

If Sid scores that goal we're all raving about it.

Not sure what he did to cause such a sour taste in his mouth but you can't even say it was a nice shot without detracting from it.

I'm annoyed about Sprong the same way I was annoyed about Despres and the same way I was annoyed about Tangradi: people overhyped the **** out of them, they got bumped out because they couldn't hack it, people got pissed because they set their expectations too high, and now suddenly everyone wants to say it was bad to let them go because they did one thing good.

Except Despres was playing as a top 4 defender after we traded him. Had his brains not gotten scrambled he'd likely still be doing well.

Also, that shot that Sprong made, though usually from a LHS there, is my #1 reason for scoring being inflated...RVH goalies and more players able to make that shot on a more regular basis is a top reason for scoring increases...
