Oh Todd... that is a horrible take on the hit. While I actually think that no supplementary discipline is really necessary for this, that video just makes you look like a fool. I understand that you need to defend your players, but that was Tortorella level bad take.

I don’t see the problem with coaches saying that one of their players did something stupid when they do something stupid. It would help tremendously with getting garbage play out of the game

In no way making an attempt to defend Wilson: Seney is the lightest player in the league at like 155. Wilson weighs at least 60 pounds more than him. It would take little effort for Wilson to wreck his life.

That being said, he didn’t make head contact but it was a predatory hit from behind, well after Seney had the puck, and was completely unnecessary and avoidable if Wilson had made any effort to avoid it, which he didn’t.

It was a stupid hit, but it was basically just interference. A left arm/shoulder hit to the left arm/shoulder/left number. The good thing is that he got a match penalty onhis rap sheet for it so that will help on discipline for future stupidity.

I understand that you need to defend your players, but that was Tortorella level bad take.

It just seems to get taken to comical levels in Caps land. Been that way well over the past decade. The "No way my perfect angel is to blame" Mom's sitting in a principals office some day aspire to be on Caps fans and coaches level.
